He was a popular movie actor. He even made a Hollywood movie, which did poorly at the U.S.A box office. The original lead female was a top Chinese actress, but the project was delayed, and she dropped out. They recast a Caucasian actress as the FL.

I saw it burnt into the episodes a few years ago. It is blatant when it is a costume drama. The worst thing is when they have blatant product placement in the drama. There was a K-drama that had Subway foods and restaurant location or logos in every episode. Viewers complained to the production company. I stopped watching Kdramas years ago. I don't know if they curtailed the practice.

This might not be the first drama where they killed the Head Eunuch. The job security can turn on a dime. He was slightly temperamental but a loyal employee.

I just watched a drama within the last two months, and the emperor was normal. I forgot the name of the drama.

He was projecting his anger for Emperor and Zhuang, and anyone else onto Feng Sui Ge. Murong Yao was alive and well, so I don't see why he was hacking Sui Ge.
