2) I have a suspicion, far before it's confirmed(?) that wuji is the anon, that someone's on a mission to make ziyu the sword wielder. Now, whether this has something to do with wufeng or it's just wuji's personal mission out of her attachment to Lady Lan or sth, remains to be seen. If it has something to do with wufeng, then the ultimate objective of all the mission going on now is probably to create chaos in gong's household, because they assume ziyu is the weakest link of all the gong bros in line of the sw position. Which also make sense why wufeng chose to reveal the existence of spy brides. And to send not one, not two, but three spies at the same time. It's the true definition of chaotic evil. Now the anonymous is here to further adds more spice into this chaos and, voila.

It took me a while to really get on board. The cases and detective works feels a bit scooby-doo-ish. That said, after di feisheng got introduced the story definitely picked up. Now i'm on ep 14 and i really enjoy the three leads dynamics.

At this point I'm afraid that we're all overestimating the stories and the characters lol. This kinda feels like AoS all over again where theories and discussions are more interesting than the actual drama XD
Also, reading few comments below where the show decided to cut some parts, that is actually important for the characterization, makes me kinda confused. Like, why would they think that we (as viewers) not going to want to see a character that we could root for? Why do they feel the need to water him down? 🤔

But, on another note, i've just tried to read the novel (of course via google translate) and there was part where it was confirmed that yun weishan is actually her real name? So it's more likely that it's not a stolen identity at all? Can any Chinese reader confirm that this is not a mistranslation?

Same! This drama initial set up reminds me so much of AoS! An underdog hero--who in the eye of the public looks useless, lazy, and spoiled--meets a heroine--who is jaded and has a lot of things to hide--who can help and gives him motivation to improve and raise up to the challenges thrown at him. If handled well, this could be a very interesting set up (something that AoS didn't manage quite well, sadly). I hope this show can do it better than AoS.

I love how everyone has many things to say to analyze the characters. It's great that there are many ways to interpret their actions, expressions, and motivations. For me, it means that they're well written, well acted, and well directed. Story is also layered, with enough gray areas to speculate. All I have to say is, unless they managed to massively butcher the ending, i think this is going to be one of the best drama i've watched this year.

SGQ guessed that YWS mission was to map the place (like seriously i still can not figure out whether the gong mansion is in the valley or the valley is inside the gong mansion lol). And the only place she hasn't mapped out is the back hill. The only way she could go there is to pretend that she wants to help ziyu. Unfortunately she passed out right away when she's only just managed to get inside, and got transported right to xue brothers' place lol.

I forgot which minute but i think there was one untranslated around the scene where lady wuzi came to give explanation about ziyu's birth secrets

My only complaints so far after finishing ep 2 is just that their foundation looks like it does not work with the lighting. It makes the middle of their face brighter than the rest of their complexion and it's just nagl.
