OMG High Society only watched for the side love story and Temperature of love was unbearable.......so I already…
Same here, same! I watched and managed to finish 'High Society' mainly for Hyungsik (still I'm thankful, the show introduced me to that boy) and for 'Temperature of Love' as you rightly said so, it was unbearable. That's why I now refuse to watch any of this writer's works.
Concerning Baek Kyung's 'ending'... Why did the camera zoomed in on him taking a tennis ball out of his locker? And they kept showing him with that ball till his last scene...hmmm, Is the writer hinting at something? A sport manhwa a la "Prince of Tennis" with Baek Kyung as the main character? haha *imagination is running wild* I would totally read/watch that! Seriously, I want to believe that the writer has something in store for him. A story where he finally find happiness and his true self.
Nope! Skip!! 'High Society' and 'Temperature of Love' were both infuriating. Been there, done that! Never again.Just…
It seems that Jang Ki Yong and Park So Dam are in talks to play the leads...I like both but not to the point to sit through this foreseeable trainwreck. Pass!
Completed! *hallelujah* I thought Abyss was bad but compared to that show, it was a masterpiece! If it wasn't for Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah, I would have dropped it a long time ago. I will definitely think twice before starting another project from this writer. Final rating: 6/10...I didn't want to rate it lower because actors/staff still gave their all despite the crappy script! Hope to meet them all in a better project next!
Nope! Skip!! 'High Society' and 'Temperature of Love' were both infuriating. Been there, done that! Never again. Just hope that none of my favs will get cast *crossing fingers and toes* + plot sounds boring as hell.
Shallow me want to watch it only for the stunning location (my love for Greece) but I'm not sure it will be enough on the long run...knowing that this writer is the Queen of Melodrama doesn't engage me much (terminal diseases and amnesia plots should have stayed in the 2000's imo)
Spoiler alert: I noticed a handful of hate comments were from LJW fans :)
Just ignore! Simple as that. Kim Hye Yoon is awesome imo and she's the soul of this drama. I started this drama mainly for HER and Lee Jae Wook. She was great in 'Sky Castle' as the spoiled-brat and I even rooted for her character over the annoying Hye Na. Her winning a Baeksang Award was well-deserved, she's truly a promising young actress. There has always been a lot of hate going on over there, nothing new...I still bitterly remember how Yang Se Jong (a Baeksang winner as well and a highly underrated actor imo) was literally torn apart during 'Temperature of Love's run.
PS: please don't lump all LJW fans together . There are bad apples in all fandoms.
Same. I kinda feel bad for him knowing he's the only one of the mains to still be in the dark. His lines are so cheesy and his precious Ju Da probably doesn't like him either. Would he even like her if he was aware? Some food for thought...maybe he would fall for someone else (and would probably cringe at his stage lines haha)
Baek Kyung as a character is emotionally exhausting...his mood swings give me serious whiplash. One moment, you feel sorry for him and see some improvements in his characterization (graveyard scene) then he gets back to his jackass ways (I understand that those new revelations confused the hell out of him but still he should stop being so hung up on his set-up)...drama writer seems dead set in making him the ultimate villain and the third wheel of this pathetic love triangle... Not saying I didn't see it coming but still I'm disappointed by this turn of events. I was hoping for a redemption arc (joining hands with self-aware characters in taking down the writer and changing their fates for example) *sigh* I'm now half expecting him to die/sacrifice himself in the end (he's probably the one that gave the order to kill Dan-Oh in the sageuk manhwa and when he will find out, he will have a hard time coping with that atrocious truth thus killing himself???)
Don't get me wrong, I love all the characters and I'm still very much invested in the story but I just can't give up on Baek Kyung. He is a jerk but in the shadow, he still show slight signs of vulnerability and each time it happens, I can't help but feel bad for him...that's why I know where he's coming from when he rejects his step-bro's support...while not at fault, he's the son of the woman he hates the most, the one he considers a home wrecker. The one that took his mother's place. That's understandable that he wouldn't warm up to this"new" family since his father had the gall to remarry on his mother's death day. That's still a painful memory and even though it's all scripted , it feels very much real for him (like his childhood memories with Dan-Oh) I just wish he would deal with those new revelations in a less dramatic fashion. His tantrums and fits of anger are only tiring people out, making him unlikable and irredeemable.
Concerning the other characters, Ju Da is finally self-aware and she's rocking it! I was so rooting for her when she stood up for herself after the end of the stage and seeing her spray water on that bully was so satisfying!! Sae Mi needs to gain her self-awareness, I want to know if she has the same bitchy personality as her stage's counterpart...and if she's the same in the shadow, she needs to be call out on her shit!
OMG just saw! Totally agreed. Cozy drama + Lee Jae wook= such a dream !Also I hope LJW keeps on rising, oneday…
One downside though... SLS will be strong with this one:( Rooting for his success as well! After this one, hope he will get ton of offers as a main lead...he's definitely male lead material.
I have some minor complaints about the latest episode. During the scene when Baek Kyung lashed out at Dan Oh over the birthday present. I think it was ludicrous of her to blame him for something he obviously couldn't control since it was happening during the stage. He wanted to apologize at once but he didn't get the chance (it was the same when Haru returned after disappearing, she was kinda harsh with him because he failed to remember her) I know where she stands after years of abuse but it all happened on stage, shouldn't she be more understanding knowing they're like puppets when on stage? She could have ignored it and left it at that (after all she didn't care that much in the past. Where is my spunky girl wiping her tears as soon as the stage is over?) She's a lot more patient/forgiving when it comes to Sae Mi who's as much a bully as BK imo (she might be a lovely/compassionate friend to her but she's just plain cruel to Ju Da. Shouldn't Dan Oh call her out on her behavior?) I know Sae Mi is not self-aware yet but would it be any different if she was? Double standards much?
Like I said before, BK is mostly a jerk to Haru in the shadows (because of jealousy, he's afraid of losing his spot...he's also confused about his 'new role' and it frustrates him) but he's a lot more nicer to Dan Oh now (his tone still sounds harsh and his temper is as nasty as ever but he's trying his best while interacting with her in the shadows)
That's why, I would rather see them work together to take down the writer instead of fighting each other. Aren't they all victims of his/her pen after all? Fluff is nice but not at the expense of other characters and story. #Teamhappinessforeveryonebutknowitwillprobablyendintragedy
lets talk about Lee Jae Wook killing it shall we?????????
He's so freaking good! I just can't get enough of him. He's slowly becoming one of my favorite actors. I'm planning to watch all his upcoming projects, that's how hooked I am. Concerning EY, I love the OTP (they are cutie patooties) but my heart is aching for Baek Kyung...so much I can't rejoice in the 'celebrations' (fangirling/squealing over OTP cute moments)*sorry* Writer is the true villain of this story, don't forget that. Baek Kyung is just as powerless as other characters. He's acting this way because of his predetermined set-up. He still might be a jerk in the shadows but mostly with Haru (petty jealousy)...with Dan Oh, he feels remorse as soon as the stage is over. That's why I have this slight hope they won't go as far as making him the big villain #Baekkyungdeserveshisownhappiness
It was already on my "Plan to watch it" list but with this new addition to the cast (Lee Jae Wook), it's now a must watch! Ladies, brace yourselves, this puppy is here to steal your hearts and slay your souls haha
