You are absolutely right. I completely agree. Including rape in a storyline is purely a choice, and it could have been avoided. Saying that it’s “just fiction” is harmful, especially for people who have experienced SA. Claiming that “the Omegaverse has its own rules” makes no sense to me. When I watched the show, I saw rape and I don’t care if unicorns were flying in the sky at the same time. What shocks me the most is how angry people get when someone says they are not a fan of “rape.” Truly shocking.

It’s insane to excuse it as ‘only fiction’ and act like rape is fine. The fact that this is coming from women is honestly disturbing.

I’m not really sure. I’ve been watching some Chinese dramas, and they tend to make the male characters a bit aggressive. Like, we know what’s happened, but from the perspective of an ordinary viewer it might just look as if Wen Lang took what he wanted and that’s it. I’m really curious how they’re going to portray it.

Putting aside all the drama, from a technical perspective I’m really wondering how they plan to show the upcoming “romantic” scenes in the next episode (between both couples). It’s hard to talk about genuine consent here, especially when it comes to Gao Tu, and I’m not sure how people who haven’t read the novel will perceive it. Even in the bts footage, you can clearly see that he’s acting unconscious, so how they’re going to frame it in a way that makes it look like he actually wants it, I have no idea. That’s something that worries me a bit.

This show is too slow. I don’t know if my ADHD will let me stick with it knowing that there’s about to be a boom in new series. Honestly, they should be releasing two episodes a week. Not enough is happening, it’s starting to drag, and they’ll probably cram everything into the last two episodes. I actually like the show right now🫡🌺, but I just don’t have the patience.

It’s basically like Reset. Gao Tu died with the child, and Shen was begging to meet him again and fix everything. It’s still ongoing, but it’s really nice, actually.
