Paytai was chosen to be Ramil companion. He can be DISMISSED as you can hear in the episode. His family is rich so it’s not a problem to him to have a life outside the castle. He is not a hostage. Officially this couple Pete Way became for me the most boring couple I ever saw. They simply trying to hard.

Considering the changes they made in the series compared to the book, I think they want to show Ramil becoming more independent over time. I imagine we’ll eventually see him standing up to his father—especially in a moment where his father is hurting Paytai—which would be a major turning point for both of them
