Yeah she is one dimensional. She plays the same character in all her dramas. But she’s cute and her dramas are light enough and not to be taken seriously. Just before watching this drama, I watched The Double and joy of life. Compared to those two, this drama is pretty weak. Can’t really compare. But Zhao Lusi drama is good to watch between heavier dramas just for a bit of fun and to rest up emotionally

FL was annoying. It was disorganised. The fight scene at the end was lame. The ending was confusing… it seems the editing was terrible so no explanation given for a lot of things. My personal rating is 5 out of 10, and that is for the ML, otherwise it would be 1. What I liked is ML. The kissing scenes, the music.

I loved the ML, and I think he carried this show… FL was annoying most of the drama and only some character development in the last 3rd of the drama. I wanted to drop this drama so many times but watched because of ML. The music was wonderful. Zhao Lusi plays same character in each drama… granted I only have seen her in a few dramas but there is never any changes. She is still young, I hope we see more depth in her acting after she recovers. ML- I’m going to look out for his drama, I totally fell for him

People who want romance, will have difficulty with Joy of life. That’s probably why you dropped. But it’s breathe of fresh air. I loved it, Can’t wait for season 3

I just finished watching this drama. FL was very smart, intelligent and cunning. She could outsmart anyone. With her character and intelligence I dont see how she would have allowed Shen Yurong to kill and bury her alive. Thats a big plothole. With her smartness she would have talked him out of it. She would have found out exactly why he was doing it and talked him into releasing her, letting her go. But then again we would not have the story of her becoming Jiang Li. And everything that came after. But definitely a character like her would not be buried alive.

yes i felt sad for her, honestly all she wanted was to be loved and have a family with a good man, but she went about it the wrong way... evil was done to her and so she turned evil herself.

The best drama was Joy of life2....

"The Wolf" might be what you are seeking. Its been a longtime since i have seen it, so I don't remember it closely. But it has revenge plot in it, lovers who turn into enemies, ML is a warrior... and everyones favourite Xiao Zhan is 2nd ML. The OST is beautiful too. I remember watching the opening credits everytime, its gorgeous.

If you want a ML centred drama then Joy of life is definitely that. There is some romanceand revenge but its not really a war drama. There is a lot of political intrigue, and humour. You will be laughing a lot.

Her make up was awful, that orange yellow eyeliner made her eyes more red. She doesn't really have pretty eyes. She has a unique beauty, i think her looks are better for a villain role, she doesn't have a sweet pleasant look about her. It takes getting used to her unique look. Like if you look at the real Jiang Li, she was a beauty with a pleasant face.

Arsenal military academy- also a republican era but not this formula. It’s normal length drama. Very fun watch. Xu Kai and Bai Lu as leads.

I haven’t seen flames Bride but I know the type. If you want to watch a quality drama like you describe then watch kdrama - Secret. Ji Sung is ML. It’s modern drama. Enemies to lovers. And no physical abuse like this one. Happy ending.

I'm watching The Double, its pretty good but of course nothing compares to JOL. I heard Nirvana in Fire is highly recommended by JOL fans. Will watch it soon. Also other drama by the Zhang Ruoyun.

1st Prince is best for Emperor role, In my opinion. You will meet him in season 2, He is awesome. However apparently in the Book 3rd Prince becomes the emperor ( you will meet him in season 2 as well). FX doesn't really want to be emperors son. He wants to stay as Fan Jians son.

I felt that way after watching 2 seasons of Joy of Life. Thats the Best drama for me, nothing compares. I'm watching The double now. Its ok so far, but i'm still midway. And Still have a long wait for season 3 of Joy of life.

just read the description above. Its a great drama, dont miss it. i remember laughing a lot. Loved the FL. Lee Hanee doesn't disappoint. I have also watched her in few other dramas. She is comedy gold. Also watch The Fiery Priest. Stellar performances.

its the actress, when she screams she screehes till your ears bleed. But otherwise she does her role well, I liked her better in Secret. It was a lot of trauma for her as FL, so expect a lot of crying and sadness, but no screeching/screams, thankfully. Drama Secret is awesome, I think its her best performance. But don't watch her other drama -She was pretty. If I remember correctly there is that screeching there too.

There is some yes, but after FL makes it clear with Ni Zhan and draws the line, he backs away. So does the 2nd FL when she realises she has no chance.. Its just that Gu Nanting has his own demons to work with, and it takes a while for him to come around. I am still watching it and I'm on ep 33, they are not together yet and romance has dried out. The court case is about to start

I’m watching Cdrama Flight to you, with Seven Tan. Really awesome drama, unique. It’s set in aviation industry, both leads are pilots. I recommend it if you want to watch something different. Recently finished watching Joy of life, 2 seasons are out. It has amazing funny characters, humour, adventure and some romance. I would highly recommend. Joy of life has done very well in China and internationally. If you watch it, you will know why.

How do you watch 5 at the same time? You must have a lot of time? Do you watch a couple of episodes each drama a day or something. When I watch something, I like one drama at a time. The only time I watch two at a time, if one of them is getting boring and draggy.
