I don’t think there’s anything quite like this. Most dramas don’t have the type of subtlety and maturity that you find here.

I’m only on ep 4 and loving this. Ended up getting a Youku subscription because of this show.

I get this. She’s a good actress, but not super memorable. I watched both Dine with Love and Fairyland and liked both but forgot she’s the lead. I’m a bit this way with Seven Tan as well even though she was amazing in Go Ahead

Agree and that scene with ChenChen where ChenChen asks if he can cry we’re so moving.

Set up for a season 2 maybe. Good acting

I just started My Lethal Man which is completely different, but I’ll probably end up rewatching episodes of Meet Yourself.

The beginning of ep 37 got me crying so much. My face started crumpling when Aunt Feng’s son was sitting in his room after his welcome home party. Then, I started ugly crying when Aunt Feng came in. I don’t think there was even any dialogue but such a well acted moment.

I’m glad they showed Hongdou’s dad working his new job and enjoying it so much after being made to feel like he was too old to still work. I know lots of people look forward to retirement, but there are also many people who want to work for as long as they can. My dad worked until he was 80 and he says it’s what kept him sane and feeling young. He only had to quit because he now has to take care of my mom full-time. I also don’t ever want to retire. I like feeling useful and getting paid for it. Volunteering is fine if I had no bills whatsoever.

I was rewatching eps 25 and 26 on Viki and some of the subs have been updated. For example, in the original subs A-Yao says Hongdou is just ok during his confession. Now, it’s been subbed to just right which makes more sense. I noticed a few other changes here and there.

Impressive track record. All top notch dramas.

Go Ahead and Meet Yourself are definitely in my top 5 dramas. This director and screenwriter combo is a winner!

I didn’t realize that all these dramas had the same screenwriter. Find Yourself isn’t a favourite although I still enjoyed it. The other dramas are all ones that I would rewatch. I’m even rewatching episodes of Meet Yourself as it’s airing because I love it so much.

I cried from the confession all the way to her going through airport security. I know they’ll reunite, but this show majorly gets me in the feels.

I think Viki is using the Huace translations directly for this series and that’s why it’s not as good as even other Chinese dramas on Viki. There are lots of grammatical errors that distract me now and then.

I’ve been rewatching episodes while waiting for new episodes on Viki. I’m finding so many things that I missed the first time! The cutest thing that I noticed just now is that A’Yao’s computer desktop image is a photo of Hongdou (ep 24). Gave me butterflies.

I’m really missing this show today. I’m watching on Viki, so no new episode for 3 days. Beautiful in every way. I might rewatch some episodes while waiting for new ones.

I’m only on episode 8 and absolutely loving this series. It’s visually stunning. So much so, that it almost feels like an extended tourism ad for Yunnan if it didn’t have so many good stories. The acting is very much to my taste, from the little kids to the grannies.
