Sweet coming of age drama with the cutest romance
Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Joo is a perfect coming of age drama. It looks into the thought process of youngsters; what motivates them and also their insecurities in that stage of life. The drama touches not just on subjects of career and romance, but also on friendship and family in a healthy manner. I especially loved how it included whole hearted conversations between the ML and his brother, which is very rare to find.
I found the FL a bit immature for her age, I wanted to see more of her passion towards her career, but it eneded up being more about her conquering her personal insecurities of beauty. The ML on the other hand is an absolute sweetheart from all aspects, and kudos to him for sticking around with the FL for soo long! XD
The romance is by far the cutest I have seen in any kdrama. Although it was a slow burn, it compensates for it in the last 4 episodes which is full of fluff! Absolutely the cutest! Also, since the romance is based out of pure friendship ( and not infatuation), it makes the couple all the more loveable.
Overall, it is a great watch especially for young adults who are going through this stage of life, where they are figuring out themselves and have great aspirations in life. They would find it the most relatable; but for the romance would 10/10 recommend it to everyone!
