You mean kick? for a sec there, I was wondering if gick is a canto word lol
I know. I watched the mando version because I didn't want to wait for youtube but I changed my mind after watching for 20 mins. It's not the same without hearing the HK slangs.
Also the amount of Sorry, Daddy and Yes Sir is huge. Do the HK police really say them only in english ? 🙈
I'm not sure about the HK police and I don't live in HK but I have friends there but I believe the English was originated from the British colony. They addressed parents - mommy and daddy are common. The habit of adding English words here and there to sentences are not unusual.
Now that I have finished the rest of the episodes, I sorta get why YZJ had to die. His character is a bit ruthless/heartless…
Yeah. I don't think I can rewatch this either. I can't forgive the scriptwriter for killing the previous gang and then give the main leads a sad ending.

Exactly. He saw how much Duanwu wanted CSJ saved so he only did it for her, otherwise I had the feeling he couldn't care less if she die. He didn't even bother to look at her when she was lying there bloody. Remember, in TPR, PWX and LR had to make some effort to save SRQ from the fire even though he was going to die anyway. To me, this differentiate their 'hero behaviour' from YZJ. DW has that. She's sympathetic and cares about everyone even when those songstresses betrayed her and CSJ. That's how I see it.
I'm actually ok with the ending. I mean, sure it would be better with a HE, I'm just glad I don't see YZJ's death on screen in the end, and no other good guys dies so that's good.
I finished it knowing the ending. But I knew it would be beautiful even if it broke my heart. Every episode of…
Now that I have finished the rest of the episodes, I sorta get why YZJ had to die. His character is a bit ruthless/heartless when it comes to the enemies - shot XNY dead even though he was held hostage by Li Kui, Old Zheng held a knife on CSJ and he just kept on approaching, disregard for her life. When she was safe, he just calmly go and get the ledger. Don't get me wrong, I lowkey like his attitude, that he's not some bleeding heart. But for censorship purpose, he needs to show a good example, like ZJR, so I think that why he doesn't get his HEA.
Officer Ye knocked CKQ out. Interesting, I wonder how he was involved in the murders...
Yeah wasn't expecting that from him. Seems the fire in the beginning was the catalyst for the start of these murders but I still haven't figured out how they were all connected.
Just curious, why do you want to watch the Cantonese version if you can't tell if it's Mandarin or Cantonese?
Oh I have never watched Malaysia drama, I didn't even know they speak Canto there. But yeah HK canto is extra colourful and unrestrained. I remember my dad taught my then 5 years old son the word 'sik si' (eat shit) lol
