To me, this differentiate their 'hero behaviour' from YZJ. DW has that. She's sympathetic and cares about everyone even when those songstresses betrayed her and CSJ. That's how I see it.

I'm actually ok with the ending. I mean, sure it would be better with a HE, I'm just glad I don't see YZJ's death on screen in the end, and no other good guys dies so that's good.

Now that I have finished the rest of the episodes, I sorta get why YZJ had to die. His character is a bit ruthless/heartless when it comes to the enemies - shot XNY dead even though he was held hostage by Li Kui, Old Zheng held a knife on CSJ and he just kept on approaching, disregard for her life. When she was safe, he just calmly go and get the ledger. Don't get me wrong, I lowkey like his attitude, that he's not some bleeding heart. But for censorship purpose, he needs to show a good example, like ZJR, so I think that why he doesn't get his HEA.

Yeah wasn't expecting that from him. Seems the fire in the beginning was the catalyst for the start of these murders but I still haven't figured out how they were all connected.
