I think Lanxiang parents totally overreacted. It's not as if the marriage decree is to a 50 years old man with 10 wives. They know who Jinqi is and he has never mistreated them. She is finally getting back her rightful place.

She has never said she was in love with Scholar Han so not sure why they reacted that way and the mom fainted too.

I have a feeling if scholar Han is good looking, most of us will be rooting for him because the guy is nearly perfect and he's quite smart too and can read Jinqi's intention, unlike LX who is clueless for someone who is supposed to be really smart.

Oh that doesn't sound good. I don't remember why I held off...maybe it has a bad ending. I need to do some research before diving into it because I don't like sad ending. That's why I couldn't bring myself to watch Goodbye my princess even though I heard it was good.

Yes I understand why they aged up the FL to at least 18 for historical dramas because of our modern mindset. In the drama, the FL is 19 so just saying her sisters are quite old not to be married if they are between 19-21.

It's obvious she's going to reject him. A discussion is not going change anything. It will probably make her want to marry 2ML faster knowing he's interesting in her. I'm just seeing from the ML's perspective, and not saying what he did was right but I think that the decree is his only option of getting her to marry him.

I support Jin Qi's marriage decree. What else can the guy do to win his girl? It is obvious that the scriptwriter and director are not in his favor, even cutting out his moments with the FL—such as the horse riding and princess carry scenes. She remains oblivious to all his efforts, while all her sweet moments are given to Scholar Han instead. They sing together at every opportunity, live right next door to each other, and their families genuinely like one another. They even have their little wall-knocking routines and the basket over the wall. On top of that, Scholar Han helped her escape.

Jin Qi never stood a fair chance to win her heart, especially now that she is about to get engaged. What else is he supposed to do?

I think everyone puts the ML on a pedestal and thinks everything he does has to be upright. I'm ok with his action. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't see any way at all for him to get her to marry him, if not for the decree.

I get what you're saying. I'm enjoying the drama as well but was rather tired of all the convenience in the plot and everything lining up for her. Happy watching. Let's hope the latter half will not be disappointed.

Like I said, convenience. So what was her plan to deal with her before she overheard because she must have planned something when she dressed up as a ghost to let her know her plan failed. It's as if she can predict she will run into the Crown Prince and he would care about a nobody like her.

I think it was reckless of her. She's a Duke's daughter, she can still retaliate later and it's so easy to have her parents killed. Of course this being a drama, that's not going to happen.

Yes, I feel bad for him. If he weren't the ML, he would be the 2ML pining for the FL, who pays him no attention. In another drama, Han would be the ML. Think about it: his singing with the FL, their cute little basket over the wall, bonding over helping each other, him giving money to the FL, and her helping his sister... gosh, so many examples! Lol. The poor ML
