I'm someone that if I was interested in someone, in this case a friend, but that other someone is very clearly…
Your point about the doctor is completely fair, if someone has shown zero romantic interest after a long period of friendship, it’s reasonable to maintain boundaries and move on. But that exact logic holds for the male lead as well. The FL hasn’t given him any real signal either, not then and not now. The “tension” people point to exists almost entirely because he kept inserting himself into her space. Without him repeatedly pushing that line, there would be nothing to read into. So if we’re being consistent, the doctor isn’t the only one who should reconsider where he stands.
I loved the drama, but the ending with her parents really bugged me. It felt so sudden how she stopped being the “black sheep” just because her siblings had a fallout. That doesn’t erase all the years her parents sidelined her simply because she wasn’t as academically perfect as the others. It would’ve been so much more realistic if she had accepted that she still loves her parents, but they’re toxic and then moved on with her life. Sometimes people, even family, don’t deserve space in your thoughts. Instead, the drama rushed into a neat happy ending, and the part I related to the most ended up feeling oversimplified and unrealistic.
This drama is so similar to Love O2O lol. I’ve seen other gaming dramas but none feel this close. Like yeah, the characters are different, but the whole vibe is the same, ML with his squad, him being the boss, getting married in the game, calling her his wife, dating from the moment they met… I’m honestly loving it, just wish the game world and costume looked a bit better.
Du Ting Xin should’ve been Empress, period. She’s loyal, smart, and actually understands how a palace works. Meanwhile the ML is drowning in his illness and blind love, and the FL is way too naïve manipulated by her father, protected by the ML, and constantly playing damsel in distress. How is that empress material?
If DTX were Empress, the empire would be stable, heirs secured, and she’d probably end up as queen mother in the long run if ML ends up dying because of his illness. She’s actually fits the crown. Unless they make her evil later on.
it’s not that every guy falls for her, she just has a talent for spotting the “I can save her” types or the ones who think she’s their personal redemption arc.
why was this even tagged as romance? be serious. there was nothing romantic about their relationship. she literally worshipped him like a savior, not loved him like a man while for him, it was more about finding companionship and relief from loneliness.
the moment he killed Qintong made it crystal clear. it was “necessary,” sure, but no actual lover could’ve done that, not even for some greater cause. rumu or even the poor dog wouldn’t have done it. calling this romance is just false advertising at this point.
It’s honestly wild to think Fugui is only in his early twenties, a guy who’s spent most of his life confined within his home, only stepping out to slaughter demons. Yet somehow, among all the characters...the elders or the younger ones who’ve seen the world. He’s the one who carries the most wisdom.
As for Qingtong’s sacrifice, it didn’t even feel tragic to me. It felt… right. Like her purpose had finally been fulfilled, helping Fugui save the world was what she was meant to do. And even Fugui’s own death didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would. Because really, if he had lived on alone, it would’ve been another Hong Ye all over again. Without Rumu, Qingtong, or his father, what would be left for him anyway?
For me, it’s actually a happy ending. They’re all gone, but it feels peaceful like everyone finally got to rest.
why everyone is acting like it’s weird that qingtong misses her brother. just cuz they didn’t show many scenes of them together doesn’t mean they weren’t close. they literally grew up as each other’s only family. before qingcheng went all evil, they both dreamed of a better future together. and like… qingtong became a spy and even drugged fugui for qingcheng’s safety in the beginning. she clearly cared a lot.
Today’s episode felt kinda underwhelming. I was dying to see their reunion but it just came off really flat. Also, why is Hong Ye suddenly calling Qing Tong “Miss Qing Tong”? Did I miss a scene or something? Last time he literally told Fu Gui to kill her!
Can we talk about how this ML is already better than 90% of others in this genre? Any other drama and the “FL poisoned ML” scene would’ve started 10 episodes of misunderstandings 😭
Well ignore those excessive ratings. The 10s for unaired episodes I can still understand because it comes from…
Sure, 1s are unnecessary hate, but pretending 10s for unaired content are “support” is just sugarcoating the same problem from the other side. It’s okay to be excited, but at least let the show air before you crown it a masterpiece.
I’m pretty sure Situ Ling’s genuinely a good person for now, but let’s be honest the moment he realizes MY only has eyes for JBZ, it’s over. He’s either going full villain or pulling that tragic self-sacrifice move. They made his backstory so pitiful just to make us feel bad later, didn’t they? Like come on, every idol drama needs one extra man hopelessly in love with the FL it’s basically a requirement at this point.
this was by far the best ending of any transmigration with return to modern times stories in all the 700+ dramas…
I wouldn’t call it the best, Romance of Tiger and Rose pulled off a similar ‘ML dreaming of FL’ ending but with way more closure. At least there ML didn’t spend his whole life just with her memories.
Question for everyone: despite the disappointing ending, is it still worth finishing? I'm currently on episode…
It’s a pretty easy watch overall. The ending isn’t the best, but it’s still enjoyable enough if you just want something light while eating or relaxing.
Someone really needs to find a loop hole in these type of c-drama ending. No matter what drama you watch in this genre, all of them end the same. The classic smile with no originality and no explaination.
Honestly, I’m amazed at how easily they’ve adapted full vintage : no phone, no AC, no fridge, not even a decent bed 😭 Like guys, you’re finally making money but can’t even spend it right. And don’t get me started on niece’s “education.”
I am so confused as to why it's such a big deal that 1,000 years ago the ML was the Shen family's ancestor? I…
Genetically, it’s really not a big deal, after a thousand years, those genes are long diluted with all the mixing that’s happened since. The real problem would be if she ends up with her ancestor, doesn’t that mess with her family existing in the first place? grandfather paradox!
If DTX were Empress, the empire would be stable, heirs secured, and she’d probably end up as queen mother in the long run if ML ends up dying because of his illness. She’s actually fits the crown. Unless they make her evil later on.
