If you at episode 5 it means you didn't enjoy the humor, nor the action, nor the plot. Only one thing was missing in these 5 episodes and that is romance. If this is what you are looking for, you will find very little in ep. 23. I don't think in the future will be too much either because this drama is not oriented on that and romance is a secondary plot. This is a ML centered drama with lots of comedy, action and hard drama from a certain point on. It is not a romance and it was never intended to be one.

Ep. 23. the character's reaction is irrelevant if it gets to the inevitable point and that is her leaving to discover the world in her friend's name and earn more knowledge and experience and him being promoted which is needed in order for him to advance in his training and power. It's not their time now. If you would spend an episode focused on them nothing important could happen. She is still in mourning and he is still busy fighting for his life (not to be executed). What is clear is that they share something which will gain more power later on, when they will be ready to focus on their feelings for each other and actually ready to fight for each other. She must learn to be independent and defy her father and he must have more power and more powerful people near him in order to fight back the ones against their relationship. Because their relationship is certainly not allowed. That's why instead of us hitting a brick wall and waste time, we fast forward 3 months later and getting closer to that point.

Ep. 24. you will get enough answers tomorrow, this is why it leaves us on a cliffhanger. But even so there will come other questions and other questions, so a bit of patience is the secret.
