For the ones who are still waiting for the love story of all times, I suggest you let it go. There are other dramas exactly for that. Not only that this drama never intended this but the director has XQA have his own agenda, so does Princess Li'an. There is a world to be saved, after all. And in all this saving process, the fact that they met and will fall in love is just a wonderful and sweet treat for romantics like me, even if it's a secondary plot. Who cares how she is ? She will be his choice. After all, is a ML centered drama.
I am one of those who can't stand "stupid", naive, weak, baby-like females and I don't care about their growth (I never liked Snow-White, I was fascinated by the Evil Queen) but I am not an idiot and I can surely understand intent. And the moment I chose to watch Cdramas I've given up the right to complain. It's just what it is. It's ok to share this with people that feel like you but don't turn it into something personal.
TXW was not only extremely well chosen for this role but she delivers when needed, and this is just the beginning.
The princess deals for the first time in her life with shock, heartbreak and grief. Her only and best friend aka her sister, the one she holds most dear and the one she admired for her courage and truthfulness to her heart just died miserably. As for character analysis come on now ! Both PRO and VS character of Li'an commentators are right. You see her according to your upbringing and life experiences. There's nothing wrong with it. As for me, I think that after her friend left she had no better things to do than start "competing" with the other princess, throwing all her frustrations as well. Of course, the other princess was not paying too much attention of such a childish thing because she was more concerned with securing her position at court and protecting her own brother who was the 2nd Prince. Both of them are kind and intelligent. They just had to face different experiences by now.
