Consort Xian is just a concubine. It's freaking ridiculous she gets to act like she is the empress.
Too right! And I wanna sue him for eye damage - his bloody lens flares! Hello we want to see ZLH's awesome jawline ok, not get blinded by your dumb flares..............

IKR? Why do we need the umpteenth power crazy biatch in the palace? They're a dime a dozen. If this had been compressed, 38 eps may have been ok - right now wondering how hectic they're going to make the last 1/4..............
There's a certain theory popular in sci-fi time travel stories (yes, this is a rewrite/rebirth/reincarnation - but same principle applies) that certain events cannot be altered, that time has a certain elasticity and will boing back onto the same course, no matter what. Or you can call it fate if you like.
In that sense, JXN's journey is not a failure. Her self-awareness and actions this time have led to multiple changes like ripples in a pond, even if she thinks the outcomes remain the same or unsatisfactory. Perhaps certain people will still end up dead or have to suffer, but their perspective has been changed by JXN's actions and that matters. And most importantly (and I freely admit my bias here 🤣) she will have saved XW from himself. Oh and herself of course...........

Ummm but she created her. And now she can't control her, just like she can't really control her own brother. The whole family (with the exception of the Princess and Shen Jie) are really nasty traitorous opportunists, ready to stab not only outsiders but each other in the back as long as it suits them. The outta control XS has truly absorbed and is personifying those famlial values.
please help me some one to explain .. whats relation actually does nining and zhangzhe before she reincarnated??…
He was the only one she was in love with in her previous life. However, due to her machinations he lost his position and was thrown in jail. During that time, his mother died. In the end, she asked XW to spare him before she committed suicide. However, when he heard that she was dead, he sentenced himself to death.
Jiang Senior may be somewhat bumbling and no high flyer in court but when push comes to shove he knows where his priorities are vis-a-vis his daughters, unlike Douchebag Dad.
I’m still in ep. 17 but I want to know if the Emperor now consort is also from the Yan family. the Dowager Empress…
Don't think she has any relation to the Yan family. The DE is just a control freak - she doesn't want the current Emperor to have a direct heir and escape her influence. She believes that her younger son will be easier to control especially after she marries him to her niece.
I'm so sick of this schedule jumping! Why so hard to just give us two a day all the way through?
Ayyyy so sucky! What's with all this last minute chopping and changing of schedules. Oh well, probably by mid-week they'll launch some express package.....
The Xues try to attack the Yans at the Coming of Age ceremony but this time round the Yans survive. They are arrested…
Hmmm, well if historical encompasses anything to do with period costumes, there's a ton of stuff if you go back a few years for eg. Nirvana in Fire, Rise of the Phoenixes, Joy of Life and Sword Snow Stride. Off the top of my head also : Eternal Love, Lost love in Times, Princess Silver, Ashes of Love. If you want to see Bai Lu in a very different role check out One and Only and the sequel Forever and Ever. She was also great in The Legends (an early work). There's also Love between Fairy and Devil which also starred ZLH. Detective/wuxia period dramas worth checking out include things like Imperial Coroner, Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, Strange tales of Tang Dynasty, Mysterious Lotus Casebook. I would be remiss if I didn't direct you to the sublime Word of Honor which was the biggest sleeper hit of 2021. For an amazing recreation of Tang Dynasty life can check out Longest Day in Chang'an. Another one in the fantasy/xianxia genre which is a charming little gem is Back from the Brink.
I actually really like pace of this show. I know they’ll be condensing a lot due to episode limitations but…
I too haven't got a problem with the pacing so far. In terms of XieNing romance, as far I'm concerned, there's been enough frisson and tension right from the earliest eps to keep one hooked.
There could perhaps be a little less of the schoolgirls' interactions but then we would miss XW the uber strict teach. The side characters like LX, XDF, YFY, and even ZYC are entertaining/interesting in their own right and haven't felt the need to press the FF button. Probably only felt it was needed in Xue Shu's scenes since she is such a stereotype.
