CHS hinted at it in ep 8...and I saw a comment saying he openly uses Yama Palm in ep 10 (I’m on 9). Yama Palm is like a combo version of this forbidden technique. So far....they are only implying it's forbidden foreshadowing it's dangerous...but will they’ll go further and show if and how corrosive it is and if it changes CHS… we’ll see..

I too watched him in TTEOTM....he truly brought the character to life...I was mesmerized by how he acted. He’s one of those rare actors who can convey emotions and act just through his eyes. Haven’t followed him closely as you..but I’d caught some news here and there, so when WoF came along, I had him in mind and pinned this drama...but mostly waiting for the final product. But I got a bit carried away recently after diving into the novel’s version of his character and now I really hope they don’t tone him down too much in the adaptation... And I’d been waiting for a huanxia with this big production, a super interesting story, and finally very toned down romance… for such a long time. It’s exhilarating and will be a total mental ride for me...

You did? ..WoF has been on my watchlist for a while, but I only really got really hyped last month when I started digging into the novel and uncovering more and more....all because of one random comment that made me super curious abt it..😁....and now I can’t wait for tomorrow....lol. I’ve never actually followed reuters from WoF, just some edits mostly from trailers and some of the official bts...so I’m not sure how closely the drama will follow the novel...btw I've read that some 23 intl platforms will be broadcasting this...🤯

Yes… but while digging into the novel (I watched the donghua)... I read somewhere that he was studying the Technique of the dead which is fueled by darkness, and in return it drains emotions and slowly eats away the practitioner’s humanity...this might explain some of his changes...

Oh, I can't remember... but if he really started that early it could explain a few things about what happens to him later. The technique is fueled by darkness, and it drains vitality and emotions, slowly eating away the person who uses it, their humanity....
