It totally makes sense...I’m with you on this. I also wonder how things got to such an extreme point...what was happening before that, and how it became unavoidable. People who know the timelines of the novel, the donghua, and TBOY and when they were made probably have a better idea. It could be that when TBOY was made certain ideas weren’t fully explored in the novel, and I’m not even sure if the novel is even finished. That makes it hard to fill in the gaps now, so we might not get all the complex answers we wanna see.... like how things became unavoidable given their personalities and dynamics so far, or how Changhe could trust SMY and missing what was really going on...not realizing how much their dynamics had shifted ....and it also doesn’t fit with what we know of Changhe as extremely intelligent and observant... In a way I’d love the kind of closure you mentioned ...maybe to bring some healing, but i also hope the drama ends before that bitter point..cause I kinda don't wanna see it... lol. I wanna this universe to be left to exist on its own... without that bitter ending, esp if it doesn’t have real logic behind it or if the ending was written before their dynamics and personal journeys were fully thought through....
After a few detailed conversations here I got know that SMY ends up killing SCH in TBOY. And there are chances…
I’m not sure the show will reach that point in TBOY and beyond, cause beyond mainly focuses on SMY rebuilding and reforming what’s left of the organization. I hope the drama explores more of the time before that.. esp the psychological motives behind both Changhe and Muyu actions, and what drives them to do the things they do...esp Changhe cause Muyu seems more consistent by default... Love to see how Changhe goes from wanting to lead the Dark River out of the shadows and reform it, to using more and more extreme methods to reach that goal. Curious to know if he ever really gave up on his original intentions or just lost himself along the way. Haven’t read the novel, so no idea about this and hope the drama explores more that side.., Wanna see how their dynamics will shift for each of them, because from what I’ve gathered, Changhe trusted Muyu until the very end… and only realized the truth when it was too late...

Yeah, i really like it and I’m on ep 6 ... it follows the donghua really closely, which is rare...so it’s no surprise it gives off the same vibe...and unlike mjty you will see here more fantasy mixed into wuxia ..with all those sgi-made formations, weapons, arrays elements...if that's your thing..
I liked their dynamics even in the donghua... their personalities were diff but they were still close. Changhe…
Had my expectations but kept them low… it was easier...and seeing now their dynamics maybe even go beyond was such a nice surprise ... Donghua’s not done yet, so I’m about to enter uncharted territory too and watch everything unfold after it ended....

Why every time the characters tried to fight Su Mu Yu they say to him I’m not here to fight with ur umbrella,…
Because Su Muyu's ultimate move... the 18-blade formation is supposed to be reserved for top-tier enemies .... and they wanted to be seen as such by him..So that umbrella fighting thing was more like a slap in their faces 😁
how is this drama so far? Iv put on hold any stressful drama for now. does this have similarities to my journey…
It's similar in terms of dark aesthetics and that mysterious assassin organization vibe... with all the who'll stay loyal and who'll turn traitor tension... but BR focuses more on the fights and keeps the romance on the low side for now..
From ep 1, I'm already loving the bromance btw our two male leads hehe~ I'm thinking also... Gong Jun was in a…
I liked their dynamics even in the donghua... their personalities were diff but they were still close. Changhe is the foil to Su Muyu ..and i really liked him there...CHS serves him well here.. I was curious from the start how they’d show this dynamic in the drama, but so far, I’m really pleased with what I see..🙂
I just started ep 2....Chang Hua Sen is speaking passionately, emoting, and delivering on his lines/acting...and…
That’s where the drama follows the donghua, from what I’ve seen so far.. In the donghua, Changhe is charismatic, playful, with little regard for rules... far fewer moral boundaries than Su Muyu. Muyu is calm, composed, and precise in every move and he often has that "blank" stare with little expression, so I don’t see his portrayal here as much different from the donghua...(didn’t read the novel tho). I liked in the donghua how their different personalities made their dynamic so interesting. They were close, but their traits contrasted. Where Muyu holds back... Changhe pushes forward...where Muyu stays loyal to certain codes, Changhe is ready to abandon them. Muyu’s inner conflict ....torn between loyalty, personal ethics, and duty to his family/organization made him interesting to me...
I think this is the most civilized comment section that's why wackos like that lowlife badgersupremejackass can…
Yeah...she seems like a Neo fan and a huge LITC worshiper… maybe just feels threatened by the success this drama might get. 🤷♀️I’ve seen some upset cause it came out before LITC finished… maybe that’s why she’s camping in the comments, trashing Gong Jun to every newcomer... I’ve watched the first 2 ep .... it’s pretty much in line with the donghua. Even some small gestures and dialogues are aligned. The SMY character is angled just like in the donghua.. Neo’s a great actor and he def doesn’t need this kind of “promotion.” And if she just wants this boyish Neo LITC character fanfic to see here again..not gonna happen...she should take it elsewhere instead of spamming here..
Probably VoS… tho not sure it’ll top FoF with so many amazing songs...but hoping we’ll get something just…
I can't wait for Dragon Chant...I found a beautiful song teaser http://xhslink.com/o/4Qq8xnwv3GQ but couldn’t get the full version... looks like they’re all just previews. Can’t believe Dragon chant and Blood river (love donghua) air at the same time.... If Rosy Clouds by any chance comes out too, it’s def gonna turn into a binge marathon 😄. But that’s not a bad thing ...if it’s gonna break the FoF curse and finally make me finish any cdrama after FoF🙂
