I am officially a member of the son-in-law alliance supporters. I love them so much in this episode that I canât explain. Chai An and FLH both are fully devoted and now DYX joined in full. I also love how he stood strong and believed his wife instead of a random scoundrel on the streets. Itâs really rare to find this level of faith in a C-drama.
I have watched only until ep 7 but from reading the comments here, it looks like the 1st sister's love interest…
I donât know, if they just make it right like in the next episode, he is salvageable. He isnât a jerk, not a hopeless crybaby, we just need to cut his pride and he can shine. Now, cross your finger, and pray that they do this right.
The sudden change when du yangxi saw his wife is kinda ehh..
It made sense though, he thought the one who treated him was the 3rd daughter, Kangning, hence his fixation, but when he realised is was ShouHua, he realised the one he liked, the one who painted, the one who wrote couplets and the one who treated him was her all along not Kangning. But yeah, they couldâve explained it rather than that one sceneâŠ
Episode 11: The show promotes itself as a light-hearted comedy types, but I'd like to see a little bit more depth…
I mean, he has plenty of chances to apologise. He is just too proud. Two son-in-laws have already been grounded. Time for the third, I guess. I think by end of maybe ep 15 he will join the knowtowing group of son-in-laws
I love women ruling their husbands. Like wow three day into marriage and all three son-in-laws have submitted themselves to their wives. Even Du YangXi just took one look at her and was like, yeah, thatâs the one. Hehe. I also love how Chai An was kicked out by Kangning. Fan Liang said he even knowtowed đ€Łđ€Łđ€đ€. All that is left is the third son in law to knowtow and submit to his wife. (Though I do like that he trusted his wife instead of a raandom stranger. We know he was lying. Itâs as obvious as day.)
Okay, I loved how they added the povs, but I wish instead of the arab travel being Chai An's scheme, he was really heartbroken and leaving. I mean. I don't know why they said it was his scheme. To show he was smart? I feel that.
I donât understand what âpovâ means. So far I am watching episode 6. Still enjoying this series, although…
I mainly mean the FL's side of story. Like in the last two episode that for me were 7-8 were so... blank. Like things were happening but why they were happening was all like a blur. Wasn't ML mad? Why is he purusing her again? Didn't the FL like the ML? Why is she so emotionless now? Like I see no spark. I see nothing. The story is progressing but it is like due to so many elements and things we are not focusing on the characters. That's what I meant by lack of pov. I hope I cleared that up. I am really bad at expressing so tell me if I went the wrong way.
I don't mean to beat a dead horse but this is exactly why this drama doesn't work as a women centric story written…
I get where you are coming from. It feels like the screenwriter doesnât know what to do and it is just chaotic. I mean it is 5 couples, but still. It couldâve been done better (solely my own inexperienced opinion).
The cast is too big and you can see screentime being divided among the characters. 5 pairings is too much for…
I thought that too, but itâs not like we are delving into the other sisters much, like all the attention is given to the ML and his younger brother. Itâs not like they are introducing the couples right now, our focus is just the FL and ML so it doesnât make sense that we spend so much time looking at the scholars instead of the ML and FL. 8 episodes in and the FL and ML are yet to have a heart to heart, and that is considering we have 4 more couples to go. They better pick up the pace. (Plus this drama is like 50mins/ ep, it is lengthy and yet it is hardly sticking together, but I still like it so thatâs that)
Donât want to be rude but is Kangning mute? Like in every episode she barely has like 2 lines. I only see her speak when she is proposing a plan or in front of an audience. I never see her talking about anything other than business. Itâs like I never get to hear her perspective of things. Lu You Xiao is an amazing actress and she can convey most of her thoughts with expressions only, but I still need to hear her thoughts on everything thatâs been going on. How did she feel when her wedding broke. How did she feel when she saw him again. How did she feel about the scholars next door. Like nothing. I know more about the 4th daughterâs perspective than hers. This show is not from the MLâs pov then why is the FLs pov as scarce as diamonds?
I'm not sure if this was said out loud in any episode but I think in one of the trailers it was mentioned that…
I see, they did indicate that but did not explicitly show that. They did say that the 4th and 5th daughters are young, but still the marriage did just break. Isnât it too early for them to be doing âliterary matchmakingâ? Like from the flâs side we get no emotion. Itâs like she doesnât care. We didnât see her happy, crying or even angry. All she did was put the things in the wardrobe and move onâŠ? She isnât stoic and I realise she has responsibilities of running the business m but at least we couldâve seen her holding that golden doll at night. Give me something to tell that she cares.
This is the first time I told the ML to leave the FL because she is not worth it. I know that the MLâs mother is evil, but she knows the ML is not like that, and yet she is trying to get the scholars in. I am mad at her. The writers are just unnecessarily pulling this. There are 5 sisters and yet somehow, the only one up and out for marriage is the 3rd daughter. Shouldnât the oldest sister be the one looking for prosepects? I just donât get why the 3rd daughterâŠ
{Guys I realise that the first daughter doesnât want to get married yet, but still itâs too sudden. The marriage broke and the very next day they held a âliterary matchmakingâ contest. I know that was only for money, but I need something more out of the FL. She is putting a brave front for her family, I get that, but I still need to know her thoughts on everything. Didnât the FL like the ML? Shouldnât she ask for time like her eldest sister? Itâs like she is doing everything for her family. I need more of HER thoughts, HER feelings. The ML proposed and she just agreed. That time she seemed happy and as if in love but now, we donât see her the slightest bit sad. It is like she closed her feeling with the golden doll. I need something to know she cares. Now all we see is the MLs continuous pitching while all she does is sitâŠ? At least bring up his name somewhere. You need to tell me whether you like him or not. Itâs like I am trying to guess. She is the quietest one so far.}
So basically Kangning and Chaian are the misunderstanding couple. They will have a rocky ride. But I guess we have 4 more couples to go. It is too early to judge. I personally love the humour.
