Have you decided what sort of ending you want Windy drama to be? Everyone can decide the ending of TWTWB for themselves. I think there are some good arguments for a happy ending ;-) so just go with what you beliueve in and be happy. :) I choose to take it as an open ending personally.

Well I tried to discuss it on the prifile page but fans are as always being narrow-minded and can't accept a different point of view :( You;re right though, I felt that was the last scene too. But I still think this is a dream...but it doesn't have to be a dream, ether It's open ended and up for interpretation. I like it even more this way! I like the writers for trying to accomodate everyone and without compromising their own vision, they really did their best, not only with the story but also with how camera work and editing worked towards making meaning. I loved it! But at least the final kiss could have been better, geez.

Good morning Edinaa. Glad to hear your problems have been sprted out ^^ Love rain is actually quite nice. Even though JGS has a long way to go before he can call himself a good actor, but the story worked to his advantage in this case and covered for any lack of expression on his part. It's a nice drama a la the movie Classic, except the connections are loose. it;s been modified and modernised but the feelings, feelings similar to the classic, are still there...except JGS failed to make them very tangible. But they were still relatable. Beautiful story about how strong can love be and how destiny works. I also finished that winter, the wind blows. Will not say a word about it though as I don't want to spoil you but I"ll look forward to your comments.

It's a happy ending for me, I don't care what everyone say about this dream thing or whatever... it's a happy…
I wouldn't call it confusion exactly the language of camera and direction is also important in any cinema, aside from script and acting, so even without subs the tell tale signs are interesting to read as well and may give raise to interesting theories :) Anyway, the point is that everyone has a chance to be happy with it.

In reality I believe they both died, however for me they got their happy ending, in whatever way you want to interpret…
now that is a good point, actually, I forgot about the real oh soo. well, fine, I'm happy with a happy ending and I am not unwilling to admit that it's not it- I am not arguing here but I found it at least very exicitng that there WAS a possibility of an open-ended ending, I love endings which leave something to think about and the drama still gives me a possibility to see it as an open-ended ending. They really wanted to make people happy, it seems to me.

And I think that all this discussion is the best testimony to the PD team efforts- they really did well with this drama.

Without subs...I would say the ending shouldn't be judged too rashly. I think it's very manipulative. I think…
no, I still chose to believe the ending is open-ended, or at least that it;'s possibly hinted at as being open ended but I also accept it as close-ended. Either way, I don't mind, it was well made...but it was from the start hardly believeable that he would die from this stab to be honest. I would have liked an open ending more, but well, it doesn't chsnge the fact that the story is well done.

well I still believe this is just an interpretation. I was thinking about the secretary Wang too, but you know it could still be a fantasy- because it's in her mind. they could all be fantasizing about what ifs, after all he IS still feeling guilty. I think it was a tip towards all possible endings, taking everything into consideration, but I am not against seeing this as a close-ending option either since you do have a point.

@0000: well-made is right. I love when endings are open-ended and yet complete enough to satisfy everyone. haha this team was absolutely spot on with the ending i believe.

my thoughts on ENDING OF THE DRAMA are in SPOILER ABOVE. They were written BEFORE the subs for final episode 16 were out.

Without subs...I would say the ending shouldn't be judged too rashly. I think it's very manipulative. I think it's the kind of ending that is open to interpretation. You can take it as you want. To me, it was a dream sequence...but maybe subs will prove me wrong, but it's enough to look at it....such dreamy cinematography! On the other hand, the other hint is the fact that it's spring, spring brings rebirth and hope after long winter- I think the ending wants to be clever like that. Now, to watch the remaining episodes leading up to the finale- only four left) and to confirm whether subs of the final episode will change my mind. However, we DO see him clearly stabbed AND we never see the waiter's face UNTIL she sees it- so it can be all happening in her mind. That sort of ending would be very clever and open-ended and give us something to think about. As many endings as viewers.

Ohhh Plenty of times but in those cases I know I simply dislike the drama. Well, it depends on the drama sometimes I find characters like hotaru no hikari endearing, other times just annoying and such sterotyping can be annoying. but there are those times I don't mind (rich man poor woman, ex. even though the lead girl is more stereotypical than asahina yoko, whom I really liked). Is Punch any good?
