Spoiler about the ending. π½π½π½π½π½π½π½π½
It feels like a script within a script. The last couple of scenes make it feel that the whole "Twilight" is just a script, and it is! It's a script about his life and mostly focusing on his relationship with FL. The last scene where he stands alone reading the script, and talking in the phone to some Director/ Boss, stating that he wrote 2 endings might indicate that there is something that has changed. Now, check the way ML look, walk, and talk, and the kind of car he dives with its edgy style that goes well with his own style, and it's totally different from his previous car and style. The guy has changed a lot. He may have been talking to his "brother" or someone else, that wasn't clear, but he is less naive now, and that might be a sign that the slavery contract he signed is no more, or about to be broken. IN "Pursuit" script, we hear a shot without knowing which one used his gun, but after "Twilight" roof scene it's obvious, at least for me, that he chose her over him. It's gonna be always her from now on. She is gonna be the FAMILY he craved for. If that so, then as all his scrips have glimpses of his life, then as he gave up on his "teacher" in "Pursuit" will be the way he will give up on him in real life too, not by killing him π€£, but by eliminating him from his life at some point. But sadly not in the timeline of the drama!!!! The writer tried his best to be smart but he ended up frustrating the audience.
I really loved this show but I hated the ending. I didn't like both endings. I feel like they should have ended…
1st ending she grew to be a fine young lady, who knew everything, and took him to the woods to convert into a rattan tree with him as it's the only way for them to be together. 2nd ending, the little girl grew into a different person, just like propagation with cutting in plants, she is genetically the same, but not the same person! The origin/ FL came back, only becoz of the seed she received as a child from the guy with the hand fan! The thing is, ML is now a long living person like her coz he has the power/ energy of Chisan she gave him. And they are pretty much stuck in that place because they are semi- immortals comparing to humans. Theoretically, it's a happy ending, they have only each other for eternity. But that was a very long way to achieve that ending! I mean 8 episodes less would've been much better.
Cinematography is stunning. It feels like a breath of fresh air. It's a bit slow, yet complicated and full of details. The 2nd ending though is a bit philosophical for my taste.
Painfully great. The only way to enforce the law is by making a big bang to be noticed. And that last scene in the courtroom made me think that the message here is "The law is just a defamed imperfect justice."
Rumor has it, that Dilreba and Xiao Zhan are in talks to be the main leads! Personally, i can't believe it!
I really need to see them together, they are incredibly beautiful and so good actors, any drama they will do will be a super blockbuster. Too sad if she didn't make it.
Remembered it and came back to rewatch. i didn't finish it back then, i think i had exams or something, anyway, the action still looks so good even with today's standards. But the ending is just "meh"
Liu Yu Ning has such a good screen presence. Camera loves this guy, and it's not about the good looking, though he is good looking but not as much as Gong Jun, but he has that personality and swag that steals the eyes of the audience.
