I had been waiting for a brainrot romantic comedy for a while and was really excited. Just disappointed because *spoiler* below. They should have stuck with the manhwa as is, maybe change the personalities a bit and few details here and there would have been better.

One moment that really stood out to me was FeiFei running toward her father as he’s being shot. Even after everything, she still cares about him. Gao Feng once said that realizing your father is literally Satan is a hard pill to swallow, and that idea resonates strongly here. The only genuinely sincere thing in Wu’s life was his love for his daughter, even though that love still ended up harming her and effing up her life. But then Gao Feng's adopter father was no different.

I think he was planning to infiltrate but ended up losing memory and falling in love with RSB. Then his friend jogged his memory and he continued to investigate since he was already in the Rong family close circle.

Wild theory but what if Yun Shu is an imposter? What if the grave she side eyed when she met RSB was the real Yun Shu who was blind?

I think RYS is just jealous. She’s a maid’s daughter, and grandma probably never gave her mum any importance, and she knows she’ll never be treated on par with the others, especially since she doesn’t have a single talent to her name. You are right about Saudi! And dont get me wrong, I loved the romance part of it. I would love to have someone like Yusen pursue me. But its hard to ignore the propaganda part once you start noticing it in Cdramas.

Got it! I always found him suspicious. Plus he presented all the tea knowledge to the Rongs. Also grandma made a remark about how he resembles someone she knew to her attendant lady... I think she knows his origin. If she does, she is stupid to harbor and favor the snake that he is.

That was exactly my thought. And they had him in the general ward, they were also trying to show how good healthcare is that even a high flying CEO can go to general ward and receive excellent care!

I think its their way of telling their people the progress they have made to quell any ill feelings they might have for the party considering China went through a real estate bubble that popped, then the unemployment issues they are facing currently. I think the party is trying to show that although real estate popped, there are other sectors that are or will do well and everything is A-Ok! If you recall, Xiguang retorts to Rong or someone about how people need to stay back in industries that arent doing well even though real estate is booming (back in the early 2000s as shown in the show).

That Yan guy seems such an intense green flag that he is definitely a red flag!

I am familiar with both techs and what they show in the show is close to accurate granted the story is fictional. But my point is, the Zhong Guo #1 is a bit too on the nose for me. And honestly, showing so much of the business and technical side even when it is not directly relevant to the story also makes it very propaganda-ish!
China is having reverse brain drain which is good for them but showing a white partner for the professor also moving to China with her for research was also a very deliberate choice. And usually, they used to shy away from using real city names in most dramas, but now they are openly highlighting cities and landmarks. Another piece that felt like propaganda was when Yusen tells Xiguang's dad that he should go to public hospital vs private. In most countries, private healthcare usually provides better services as they attract better talent because of higher pay compared to public healthcare.

I finished watching Episode 13 and I so wish Gao Feng is Wu's real child and FeiFei is Qu Meng's if they are not twins already! That would be such a slap in his face...
