Some viewers have very poor judgment. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but just think about it. A drama's quality depends on many factors: the production, directing, scriptwriting, the popularity of the original novel if it's adapted from one, the soundtrack, voice dubbing, costumes, CGI, VFX, overall direction, and, of course, the acting. However, on MDL, some viewers focus almost entirely on blaming the actors and actresses they personally dislike. They barely notice the flaws in the other aspects of the production. Some people with such poor critical thinking leave criticism that's so ridiculous it's actually funny. We may defend the lead actors because we're their fans. The production company and Youku certainly made their share of mistakes, but they still put in the effort to make the drama at least reasonably watchable. Even after seven episodes were cut, I don't think it's turned out that badly. I understand why some people complain, especially since so many Chinese dramas are released at the same time and viewers have plenty of other options. But making baseless or unreasonable comments is another matter. Some of the criticism I see is so absurd that it genuinely makes me laugh. I've been watching Chinese dramas since 2019, and the weakest, most nonsensical criticism I've seen has been on MDL. Maybe some people will think I'm no different, but I still felt compelled to say this because I've gained a lot of experience with Chinese dramas over the years.

They did the novel so dirty...they messed up the whole story so far. I was looking forward to this adaptation…
If you really read novel then share with us. Adaptation not mean it will accurately follow novel. All fantasy can't use for censorship problem or change story according to budget. It was filmed 2024 and originally 40 episodes now 7 episodes cut & also heard production company bankrupt. What they change in drama since you said you read novel?

I think Jingyi fans should promote TEF even more—not just on Twitter, but also on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Many viewers are saying they didn't know TEF was released on the 27th.

The only criticism thing - It would have been better if Ju Jingyi had done the voice dubbing herself; many people are finding her voice confusing. Also, the lipstick shade would have looked better if it were a bit lighter, though her overall makeup is fine. This drama filmed when she was under previous agency. Maybe in some point she could act differently than previous dramas but It is not actually problem cause character supposed to be like that she is not playing serious character so script ways nothing wrong here. Definitely she has a favourite so she is jealous of her. Jiang Lifei character will develop on upcoming episodes.

She want to attract Ju Jingyi anti fans to get enough viewship on Tiktok Video. I don’t think any other actress make it better than her cause her character is suppose to be annoying at first. Ju Jingyi rarely receive constructive criticism. Preference matter but Ju Jingyi most of the time receive very harsh and illogical criticism. There are several bad actresses and popular as well but they never target them like Ju Jingyi. She is somehow playing Ok in this drama. Director also male centric drama director how they expect much better.
