I knew that the old yu couple would throw yjx under the bus but damn thats some serious cold bloodedness

honest opinion first half POJ but overall full drama TRTS.

---------(senior yu and madam yu)---------------: Just one word "respect" for the game they play. they talk plan together and create chaos together. we are used to seeing villains who gloat their every achievement or victory to the world so seeing a pair who don't say look at what we did but rather let ppl find out on their own is different and it makes them interesting. still i think madam yu is the smarter of the two but that doesn't mean senior yu has no wits abt himself. And their schemes don't return or traced back to them is what makes them a real pain for the leads.

honestly how madam yu reads ppl is rare. she clocked fl as the jewel of fu family from just few interactions and she was right that she was the right choice for yjx and ig if there is one thing she regrets it must be not helping FTY when grandma fu asked her to step in bcz it trigged a chain of events and now we are at a point where they can never be on the same side she probably created her biggest threat in zl and FTY in that very moment.

-----------(madam zuo)----------: such a weasel villain who knows which cards are in her hands and she plays them to the absolute fullest. She is a victim to some extent but when she started going after innocent ppl either to save her own skin or dish out resentment you no longer are the victim you become the part of the system that was cruel to women. But i also liked that she had self awareness that she didn't have much advantage to begin with and that she gambled with burning all bridges with the other party aka fu fam bcz she knew that they had more to lose then her. her life was already sad and miserable and it didnt matter if it ended anyway. she also explained that being bitter and going after the object/target of her resentment aka fty brought her amusement. World was cruel to her but she was trapped in her own cage and the only relief for such a person is either being burned to ash or they burn everyone to ash.

few points for accepting her L and choosing her own fate along with her brothers aka killing herself and poisoning him. She had no say in the life she lived at fu family at least she chose to end it on her own terms.

My thoughts abt some characters of this drama (watched till ep29 so some things might change who knows)

---------(Fan yake)-----------: If i can explain her character in the fewest possible words it would be "master of self sabotage". binge watching the series allowed me to see episodes in bigger chunks and honestly the amount of chances she had to win madam yu favor and possibly yjx were far too many some of them being,
1. gifting master fan books to CP(now emperor)
2.when madam yu tried to make fty a concubine to yjx her sabotage to madam yu plan for taking all credit
3. exposing the whole operation(salt investigation) and that to if not for madam yu quick thinking yu family could have been hit hard for being incompetent. etc these are the few on top of my head.
Her biggest flaw imo has been lack of ability to read the room see put all her chips on yjx which was wrong move to begin with for many reason cause the source of power and prestige she sought out was never yjx but rather the senior couple which was also pointed out by madam yu that fty chose her(madam yu) not him(yjx) and yake not understanding this even after all these years .

I will give few points for saying to yjx that she thought that in yjx eyes the only pitiful person is yjx.


-----------(Yu jingxiu)-------------------: For the drama i have seen he is first 2Ml that is pathetic annoying and incompetent and imo that's a trio which is very hard to reach. His character is like the background music I listen to when i am doing something else yk something like a placeholder. I thought he might have a little redemption yk grow out of his parents influence be a better man and feel real regret for what he did to fty but no his character had more of a regression instead of progression .from saying everyone wants to be me to Zl to his own father giving examples of ZL to learn from must be quite a downgrade
His biggest flaw is lack of accountability and a classist attitude that he thinks just because he thinks he did something wrong means everyone in the world should be thankful for his understanding and throw themselves into his arms. My guy you are not him!!!!!!!!!!

few brownie points for the most brutal line he could have said to a person(YAKE) with massive inferiority complex that she is too ordinary uff burn call the fire department for yake.

did he ever follow the morals he preached he is just a pathetic entitled brat if the senior Yu hatches a plan that only harms ZL and not FTY which side would he take we all now it ig that's the irony of his character he thinks he is above all but reality is he is nothing i have seen fair share of annoying 2mls in cdrama but he is pioneer in being annoying pathetic and incompetent.

like it would turn into a hard choice save general mo and everyone in northwest gets implicated in charges of favoritism faction forming or treason defying the emperor orders

or let general mo die and northwest turns on you and now you all alone against yu faction

honestly if there is a way to save general mo ZL would surely burn all bridges to do it but if he is destined to die that means the trap has no hole and it really becomes a choice of saving one and harming all physically or losing one and hurting all emotionally

ok this is my guess either general mo or commander wang will die

why general mo cuz of madam wu approaching madam mo in previous episodes since yk madam mo is kind heated but quite simple she likely falls into the trap set by both madam wu and the YU's there real target being turning the northwest against the ZL so he gets all alone cuz he would have to choose either emperor or northwest

why commander wang he takes the blame or says it was his oversight in seeing his juniors not do the right thing and he should be punished for it otherwise i dont see commander wang dying cuz both he and madam wang are smart atleast compared to madam mo and general mo abt the dirtiness of capital politics

its a known fact btw even before the drama aired

maybe i need to see end of ep29 again but can anyone confirm me does fl know why he killed her father cuz he asked am i beyond forgiveness she said you took the blame for him. didnt get that part

why do i feel the way senior yu gloated Infront of zl abt the things he can do to his family. He knew zl was out emotionally yk why and all his efforts abt account books became null and void due to senior yu plan and madam yu assistance so zl had taken another hit.It looked less like a warning and more like a provocation to do something and thats what i think will bite the zl. cuz he is not thinking logically or his logic is influenced by emotions stirred big bad yu. if he pulls the plan off well and good but a not so well thought of plan and leave room for the enemies to exploit. zl is really trying to go scorched earth.

just my take he is rushing it too soon century of yu family roots cant be taken out in a single hit and that said hit being a rushed one.

I wanted to talk abt the scene in ep28 where madam yu and fty were talking abt whether true feelings exist in this world I think this is 2nd time through out the series where madam yu lost her composure (1st being when fty said she has 4 confessions and now this)

but i think while there she recovered quickly but here she was literally out of words. Ig and i am assuming this that this is the first time someone said to madam yu that they dont want to be like her yk everyone seeks what the yu family has power prestige links etc but someone outright saying that if the cost of it is losing all feelings and emotion aka becoming just a shell then its not worth it.

one other reason i see is that madam yu has repeated commented that Fty reminds her of when she was younger the planning, strategy, decisiveness yk all qualities of madam yu meaning in her mind she has somewhat accepted that FTY would turn out to be another madam yu in the future but that very person outright rejecting this idea of yours on your face must be what rocked her in the moment it must have felt like the madam yu of the past mirrored by FTY is disappointed with what current madam yu has become.

and just like yake it took madam yu deceiving herself or deluding herself that the path she is walking is right . And interestingly she said she would not like be yake wanting both love and power. look she compared herself to someone who failed to do the said task having both power and love if she had compared herself to FTY who got love and power it would be like accepting defeat for madam yu so choose a failed party to feel better abt herself.

Honestly the most realistic ending is both of them moving on with their lives aka finding new loves and letting the past be the past

But will the writers have the courage to show it off in the drama is a different story.

I bet more on both of them choosing each other in the end after a sudden dramatic realization that maybe I loved him/her all along yk cliche kdrama ending and a round about explanation to justify the cheating of one or both leads

Ik realistic ending is sad but it's the one more closer to reality but to avoid mass criticism or cater to Korean audience they might not pull the trigger on it
