This drama was magnificent. The Main leads romance was the pinnacle of perfection. The way the actors made the simplest things as smiling, hugging, or talking with small pauses in between so natural was a true testament to their acting abilities. But with all that being said, I was a bit skeptical going in because I'm not particularly fond of anything pertaining to a first love/second chance romance as the base of a story (I was a firm believer in just moving on and getting on with your life--but this drama completely altered that perception for me).
The story starts off as one would expect from a first-love/second-chance romance. So, even though the plot seems simple enough the characters are so much more complex. The ML is a man of few words so he tends to hide his pain from everyone else and the FL is fun and bubbly and seems like she has a perfect life but she's missing that one person that makes her life feel like it's complete.
I truly adored both characters. So when we finally get to the part of the story where we find out why they broke up, your heart feels as though it's getting ripped out because it's an understandable reason but that doesn't make it hurt any less.
I gave this drama 10/10 because it's truly worth of it. I would also suggest that anyone, that watches know that the story stops at episode 29. The last episode is a flashback of the ML's POV of when he first falls in love with the FL (we only see from her point at first) It really puts things in perspective and makes you fall for his character even more if you ask me.
It was a sweet cute drama, with little misunderstandings here and there, but I didn't mind, because the FL is so charming and bubbly that every time she's on the screen I can't help but smile( I have to give props to the actress because she could have easily been annoying).
On a side note. I wasn't a fan of the two other side couples. One of them was too hot and cold and the other was just fickle and unkind to the guy. I would skip those if I had to rewatch the show.
I was bamboozled, hoodwinked, and led astray when I was adamantly told that this would be a good drama to watch if you liked The Story of Minglan. The MC although, she has her charms, is way too nice and forgiving that it almost becomes dare I say "annoying". She's also meant to be this clever/smart character but most of the time she either brings the problems on herself or she falls prey to someone's schemes.
That was 3/4 of the drama of the same repetitive crap with no romance. Which to me didn't bother me because in my opinion the LI just sucked. He treats his main wife (Seven Tan's character) like gold and his concubines like they were gum beneath his feet. He wasn't unkind to them, but he just wasn't a good husband and didn't even try.
So many things could have been different if he would have just stopped with the fielty duty to his mom (who is unbearable to the end) and not ruined so many of those women's lives.
So my mom says the two leads are married in real life and they just had a son a few days ago. According to the…
Seven Tan isn't married, lol nor are the leads married or a couple in real life. Also Tan is currently shooting a drama right now so I highly doubt she gave birth a few days ago (or was ever pregnant to start).
I'm only on the first episode but the ML's voice (hope it isn't dubbed) is so deep and husky with Tan's sweet and soft voice is so aesthetically pleasing to the snowy atmosphere of the drama.
10/10. The cinematography, the acting, the chemistry between the leads, and the story were amazing. I binged watch this drama for three days straight and I have zero regrets.
I've been rewatching this drama and I have to say that I would not like this drama if Park Hyung Sik wasn't in it. I read that he added in small bits here and there to make his character more charming. His charm is what really made this show worth watching.
Very peaceful and soothing drama with lovable characters and leads with great organic chemistry. Honestly, 40 episodes wasn't enough for me, I wanted to see more by the end.
I don't give a lot of things ten on here (I believe I just have five tens in my MDL) but this is a straight ten. Superberb acting, great ost, great fighting scenes, and a great premise. When I was told that this was simply the prequel of the story I was in complete shock that this was just a mere taste of what was to actually come.
