I cried, laugh, and smiled in almost every episode if a show can emit that much emotion out of me then it's a great drama. The Queen was a fantastic mother. The lengths she went to protect her children was admirable to watch
Sidenote: The Queen Dowager was such an evil character that I just can't help but to stan.
I thought the overall drama was pretty good and the ost and scenery were just top-notch (add in hot men as well). I just wasn't really invested in the goblin and Eun Tak's relationship, I found the actors lacked chemistry with one another and their relationship didn't have the kind of depth and storytelling, that the reaper and Sunny's did (I would have watched the show revolved around reaper and Sunny if that was an option).
-I'm also, so confused why the writer thought to make the LI a high school teenager and not a full fledge adult. Not only would it have been better to watch but a more mature main lead would have really done wonders.
This is the tag multi couples, can someone please tell me who are the other couples besides the leads? Thanks…
The second male lead is Shen Yu, the male lead's brother and Shi Jin is the female lead's best friend who happens to be a female eunuch (it's a star-crossed lovers relationship. The third couple is the female leads maidservant and the male leads subordinate/2nd in command (the romance is minimal but cute).
I'm 11 episodes in and I just have to say almost everything about this show is great, but...the romance. The way they fall in love is mind-boggling. She's eating a chicken drumstick under a table and runs out at being caught, then proceeds to give him her eaten piece of meat...and somehow that equates to love???? This man has lived two lives but has fallen in love like a prepubescent. I don't understand, but I could overlook that if the FL wasn't so bland. Every other female on the show has a personality and then there's her as bland as the piece of chicken she consumes. As a romance lover to the core I really wish the romance part was removed or written better.
This drama had everything that I wanted. A strong female (she did not let people walk all over she stood up for herself), great husbands/marriages (all the husbands were just wonderful), a caring big sis , and a loving mother-in-law (she really loves Hua just as much as her son), and delicious food. I wished there were more than 36 episodes, that's how good it was. 10/10!
I loved this show a lot more than I thought I would. There isn't much romance between the leads but the leads had a lot of chemistry and the investor part of the show (which I presumed would be boring was actually quite interesting) really made it worthwhile. I also loved Seven Tan's character, in general, to start from a secretary to where she ends up at the end was great. I gave the show a 9/10. It would have been a ten by the last episode should have been more focused on the leads and not on you know who.
I don't think "Sassy" was the right word to define the princess. She's childish, insecure, and irrational most of the time. But I know what I'm getting with dramas with these kinds of titles so I didn't let her personality sway my opinion on what is a sub-par drama with great chemistry from the leads that make it actually palatable to watch. I'd give it a 7.5. (The .5 is because Zheng Ye Cheng is not only dreamy to look at, his acting was better than the drama, a real pity it's wasted on this.)
Sidenote. The two ML's were nice to look it. So there's that.
