Title The Veil
It's sad now that The Veil is not in my currently watching list anymore
That just means it's time to re-watch it! I think I'm enjoying it more the second time 'round.

Rewatched episode 5. When Ji Hyuk is looking at Soo Yeon's personnel file, it says that in July of 2012, she was put on the Moebius Project. So that's the timeframe for Moebius: The Veil – about four years prior to the main drama. :D

Can someone explain to me the last scene of interaction betwee n Je Yi and Ji Hyuk.
It's supposed to be left up to your imagination, but that phone call was clearly the first time they'd talked in a long time, and I think they were mending fences. I imagine, since Ji Hyuk did ultimately kill her dad, that there was some mixed feelings on Je Yi's part. And I'm also sure that Ji Hyuk felt guilt over killing him, since in the end Baek Mo Sa tried to stop the bomb from going off. It's clear Je Yi kept reaching out to him (based on all the letters she sent), but in typical Ji Hyuk fashion he was unresponsive.

The ending scenes that take place after Ji Hyuk passes out from his injuries are at least two years later, based on the picture of Dong Wook's daughter (she was barely a toddler during the drama, and in the photos that Ji Hyuk looks at she's gotta be at least 3 years old now).

I'm pretty sure Ji Hyuk spent months in the hospital recovering, then spent at least a year or two in prison after that – I'm assuming because of his involvement in the death of his teammates. He clearly didn't read the letters that Je Yi sent him until after he was out, but I think now he's ready to start fresh. He got that phone call from the "unknown number" at the end and he was going back to work; I think he's probably going be on the team with Je Yi. That's how I'm going to interpret it, anyway.

Who is the traitor in the end ? it's ok with spoiler !!
There's more than one villain, though the one that is the final opponent is Baek Mo Sa, who is hinted to be orchestrating events behind the scenes for much of the drama.

The songs are already on Spotify, if you have that. I'm personally waiting for the BGM, it was so good :D
When I said OST I was also thinking of the BGM. I just love all of the music. Plus I've already bought the music from most of Namgoong Min's other dramas; I want to finish out my collection. :D

Title The Veil Spoiler
Rewatching episode 4, an episode that I initially thought was a bit of a letdown after the heart-pounding action of episode 3. However, there's a lot of details to unpack in that episode that tie into the plot in later episodes. But the most interesting part to me was after Sang Kyun (the young hacker) is arrested and placed in the interrogation room, and his computer infects the NIS computer servers with a virus designed to wipe the data.

He says “Resolve this? Do you think that’s what I want to do right now? I don’t care if this gets resolved or not. I want to destroy you. I’m sick of watching how you people twist the truth and turn it into lies. You work for the country? Don’t kid yourselves…You are all monsters. Watch me...how I will destroy you.”

It seems like Sang Kyun is a mirror to Baek Mo Sa, whose only desire seems to be to take down the NIS after he was abandoned by them. I'm wondering if the mystery person who texted Sang Kyun ominous messages like:
"Would you like to work with me? I'm someone like you. Someone who wants revenge. Do you want real vengeance?"
and provided him with the virus, was Baek Mo Sa. It's highly likely that's who it was.

EDIT: and confirmed that it was BMS, as of Episode 11. I love being right. :D

On 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4 Oct 21, 2021
It's going to be strange watching 2D1N season 4 without Seon Ho. When season 4 was first announced, I was super excited that he was going to be part of the show, and have gotten a lot of joy out of watching the show because of him. After finishing the last two episodes that have aired (94 and 95), I will put this season on hold for a while until I get over the negative emotions I'm having regarding his dismissal (I'm sad he's leaving, but also disappointed in him). Welp, I guess it's time to return to watching Season 1.

It does have a bit of gore but i think it can be skipped . You can try watching a few episodes . It's not the…
The first three episodes are definitely high on the blood and violence scale, though the story turns more towards espionage and investigation after that. Still enjoyable, but the violence is definitely toned down in later episodes. Hopefully the last two episodes ramp it up a notch, since we're in the last stretch and everything needs to be resolved.

Also, the way her character was killed off out of nowhere 🥴
The writers acknowledged that they didn't give her enough substance in the main story, which they said was due to the constraints of having only 12 episodes. That is why she's getting her own two hour spin-off backstory, which is set to be released after The Veil ends. I know it's not enough to satisfy a lot of people who are unhappy with how short her role was, but I find it satisfying enough.

This a translation of her latest post:

"I am sorry that my writing has caused unintentional damage to many people.
There was a time when both me and him truly loved each other.
I also feel bad for him to see him collapse in an instant due to some of my radical writing.
I got an apology from him, and it seems that we misunderstood each other.
I hope that no more false information will be revealed or that my or his story will not be reproduced.
My heart is heavy because it seems that this incident has caused a lot of damage to many people.
This article will be down soon."

Just saying, maybe next time you get hurt, before causing damage you find a different way to redress your grievances?

Pushing someone to have an abortion is actualy illigal in my country. Abortion rules are strict here. In Korea…
If I understood her post correctly, they continued dating for several months after she got the abortion, but their relationship went downhill due to how busy he was. They only broke up four months ago, which was during the time he was still filming HCC, which probably explains his over-the-phone breakup.
My position on this whole mess is that yes, Seon Ho caused a lot of emotional distress to this woman and for that he should show her genuine remorse and apologize, and do whatever he can to reconcile with her. However, what I don't agree with is that she aired her grievances to the public. Everyone is quick to blame the person that is first accused, and act as if they know the whole story after hearing one side of the conflict. The woman knew full well the effect this story would have on Seon Ho's life, and released it anyway. Obviously we can't know whether she'd already tried to redress her grievances another way and felt she had no other option but to use the internet as a medium, or whether she just wanted to destroy the man who had hurt her. We can't know. We just assume. And I am going to assume that neither side is blameless in this.

Title The Veil Spoiler
I've started rewatching from episode 1, so I can catch all the details I've forgotten over the last five weeks,…
I definitely forgot/missed a lot of details that make more sense now. I had initially had some confusion as to the significance of the Chinese drug cartel that was the main antagonist of the first three episodes –especially since the boss was killed off by episode 4–, but now as I'm rewatching I think I'm finally beginning to understand.

Here's what we know:
1) Ji Hyuk met with agent code named Brown Bear, who mentioned that Huayang Gang was just a branch of a larger conspiracy.
2) Huayang Gang transported drugs from North Korea to China
3) Baek Mo Sa is a former SK agent who was sold to the North.
4) The boss of Huayang Gang knew and feared Baek Mo Sa.
5) Baek Mo Sa is known as a notorious criminal who controls the border between North Korea and China.
6) Director Lee Im Hwan had dealings with Baek Mo Sa, and gave him Ji Hyuk's personnel file per his request.

My theory is that Baek Mo Sa used Huayang Gang to eliminate the South Korean NIS agents, either as part of his larger plan to create a national incident to topple the NIS, or because Brown Bear was getting too close to discovering him. He also was likely the one who tipped off the gang about the location of the safe-house Ji Hyuk and his team were using, though how he knew is unclear. Baek Mo Sa is probably the reason why Jang Gwang Cheol and the boss of Huayang Gang knew Ji Hyuk's name and face, and that he was the one responsible for the death of the boss's son.

If the drama is going in the direction I think it's going, Baek Mo Sa's entire life's purpose now seems to be avenging himself on the agency that used and betrayed him. He doesn't care about national politics, as he's killing people on both sides of the conflict. I wonder if they'll show us more of his past, because if he really is Je Yi's father, I want to know how her loving dad turned into a monster.
