I don't really agree that powerful, authoritative roles are always given to men in dramas. That trope definitely…
As a straight guy, I know that most K-dramas especially rom-coms and romance series are primarily marketed toward a female audience, and there's nothing wrong with that. But after a while, I get tired of seeing the same decades-old tropes repeated over and over. Hollywood has the same issue. So many romance stories seem to follow a familiar formula, and it makes me wonder: how often do we actually get movies or TV series that cater to male romantic fantasies in a meaningful way?
Personally, I'd love to see more unconventional stories that flip the usual dynamics. For example, a romance where the female lead is the supernatural monster, vampire, demon, or otherworldly being, while the male lead is just an ordinary human who falls in love with her despite the dangers and differences between them. Not in a "she gets turned into a normal girl" kind of way, but where she remains the powerful, strange, and even frightening creature that she is, and the story explores their relationship from that perspective
Why do they always give the imposing and authorative role to Man like why couldn't that dragon be the FL and normal human diplomat be the ML? I am tired of this trope fo powerful and smart and lonely cold man falling in love with naive poor FL just because she talks different to him than any other girl
How did Ye Li leave for the mountain for 3-4 days. When it was just that day she asked him go to with her to temple? Also who is going to be the overall antagonist of the drama
So she is hallucinating about her maid Qing Shuang so does this mean she died and her mother and grandfather are also not alive and she is thinking they are alive?
This website user base becomes worse day by day, rating drama poorly early on just because you don't like certain actor or actress making into stan war. What a great website it used to be people would put into real thought about how they felt about shows instead of engaging in this bs stan wars
I finished watching ep-1. So far I have liked the red color scheme throughout the drama. Plus for a pilot episode it didn't give me that sense of satisfaction that will justify the FL revenge arc it kinda seems hollow. Also is script good cos this plot has been repeated so many times that I am tired
