I still dont get why pete didn't tell porche about vegas when he said who did this to him ?
He is protecting Vegas and plus he is used to hiding his pain, he never shares his suffering with anyone. He always makes sure to wear a smile in the presence of others and pretends that everything is okay.
Guess who is back, back again Spoiler alert,me Back with my thoughts on ep 13 overall
Episode 13 is too good of an episode for me not to talk about till next week.
Starting with VP, their story is rushed compared to the novel but they did a good job adjusting it into the series and it somehow grew into its own thing which I came to like just like the novel. I especially love how their dynamic is different. Pete is the only light in Vegas' life in the novel, he satisfies his affection-starved inner child. In the series however, I feel their effect on each other is more impactful as it is not only Vegas's world that turns upside down, but Pete's as well.
It is fascinating how they are both facing similar situations but their take on the world is different. Vegas lets the world know his pain by creating an aggresive persona which he wears to act evil, cold and ruthless. In reality that persona, serves as a way to hide his sensitivity. On the other hand, Pete maintains an image in which he acts as an easy-going and optimistic person in order to mask his pain and conceal his trauma. When those two meet, Pete's optimistic persona manages to slowly tear down Vegas' walls created by his rutheless persona and reveal the sensitivity that lies behind. As a result, Pete starts to reveal pieces of his true himself as well. But,Pete allowed only a glimpse of those pieces to emerge. His walls are harder to break down. The moment he realized he let his desires out, he started putting up his walls again, only for Vegas to break them completely making him reveal his inner demons and thoughts. Their relationship is messy and they can not help but get consumed by that mess. One moment they save each other and the next they bring each other down. They are like a drug to each other, one minute they are high on pleasure , taking in everything the other provides them, and the next they hurt each other. Even if they don't mean it, they keep tearing each other apart but at the same time they are the only ones who can put the pieces of one another back together. They need each other and they both come to acknowledge that fact in the bar scene.
Moving on to Kinn and Porsche. First of all, I admit that Kinn made me angry the past episodes because I used to consider some of his decisions dumb.Nevertheless, I can not help but acknowledge how far he has come. Looking back, we see that he would either leave Porsche in the dark or hurt him in his attempt to live up to the image of the mafia boss. Now we see him taking pride in his relationship with Porsche and strongly stands by him, showing him trust and giving him more freedom. Things he did not use to do in the past. One of my main issues with the relationship between KP was the luck of communication, epseically on Kinn's part, but Kinn wished to start over and he actually did. Too bad that their relationship might take some steps backwards because this time it is Porsche who keeps secrets. To be honest, I was angry at Porsche this episode. He witnessed with his own two eyes the pain of Pete that was caused by Vegas and he still chose to sell his friend to Vegas in exchange of information. The audience knows that Vegas has changed but Porsche has no reason to trust in Vegas. Vegas has shown his manipulative and ruthless side to him, making him unreliable and untrustoworthy to Porche. Especially, since Kinn keeps emphasising that Vegas is up to no good and not worth of trust. I can understand that it is a sensitive topic and it is hard to bring it up to Kinn, but choosing to trust Vegas and behind Kinn's back too, will only make matters more complicated. And I am still mad that it was so easy for him to hand Pete to Vegas, while Pete literally went through all the pain to prove Porsche's innocence. My heart feels for Pete, since he is no one's priority, He tries his best to bring smiles to everyone but no one cares enough to return his feelings and devotion. No one notices his pain hiding behind his smile, and even if they notice they turn a blind eye to it, like Porsche did when he gave him up to Vegas.
Concerning KimChay, to begin with, WHY DID THEY ROB US FROM THEIR DATING PERIOD? They really did not handle the screentime well,I hope the side story will make it up to us.Secondly, I am glad we are getting to see more of Kim's soft side. Kim usually has a blank expression on his face, making it hard to read him. He is very calculative and he is the kind of man who focuses on his goal, not letting any distractions to keep him away from accomplishing his goal. Chay might have won a place in his heart but Kim still kept his focus on the big picture causing Chay's heartbreak. As much as I am mad at Kim for his behaviour, I can not help but find him interesting as a character.
Now, I saved best for last, that is Tankhun. I have always said that Tankhun is one of the few, if not the only one, with a functioning brain and common sense. I don't like how he is considered as the crazy one by his surroundings when he is clearly the sharp one. He always catches on little details, he knows what the situation is and he is not afraid to speak his mind. He is brave enough to point out facts that others are hesitant to even bring up. He refuses to play silly mind games and cuts to the chase. Moreover, he cares for his people, he is loyal and devoted. He was the first one to notice there was something fishy about Pete's situation and once Porsche and Chay went missing he was willing to go find them. In other words, Tankhun is the best charcter in the series.
Finally, I want to close this comment by sharing my opinion on who should be a mafia boss. I think either Tankhun or Kim would fit more to be a mafia boss. Tankhun for the reasons I mentioned above and as for Kim I will proceed to explain now. Kim is calculative, smart, sets a goal and actually achieves it without letting distactions get in his way. Unlike Kinn who seems like a hopeless romantic and Vegas who is affection-starved, he does not let his feelings take over him and divert his attention from fulfiling his objective. Thus, he can turn cold whenever the situation calls for it. But, most importantly, he is not motivated by an external force. Kinn is forced to play the role of the boss because his father forced that role upon him, and Vegas is motivated by his desire to get Kan's approval,.Kim on the contrary, takes action for his own interest. No one asks him to do anything, in reality, he is the one who is the most disconnected from the family, he even lives on his own. The reason he does things is to satisfy his own curiosity. He does not want to win anything but answers for himself, thus making him the most dangerous of all so far.
I know I am in the minority. I am enjoying this series a lot but I just can't get behind Pete/Vegas. I can't erased…
I understand why you might see it this way but if you pay a little bit of attention to their story you will realize that this is not a case of Stockholm Syndrome even if it seems like that at first. Vegas is a very broken individual and so is Pete. However, Pete does not justify Vegas' behaviour and even points out his faults. He himself said he did not want to be seen as a pet with no emotions. He understands Vegas' pain but he does not accept his abuse. He never tried to make excuses about Vegas' abusive behaviour. He tried his best to survive and in the end he left because this was the best for him at the moment.

Like Porsche's logic be like '' I can not trust Kinn because of his dad but I sure can ask Vegas for help, he only lied to me, tried to kill me and he got my little brother involved in his plan with Tawan, yeah sounds like a great idea!'' Like please, what was the thought process behind this?
kp episode 13 analysis:first, let us talk about vegaspete. i honestly think that their storyline is kind of rushed.…
My twin is on fire spitting facts. First of all, I agree about VP being rushed but after I started seperating the novel from the series I was able to enjoy it more. I still think it could have been handled better but they did a good job narating their story in such short time and actually got the audience to feel the emotions conveyed.
Now about Kinn, I too am happy about his character development, I have been angry at him in the past because of his dumb decisions at certain moments but his character has come so far and I acknowledge that.
Concerning Porsche, you explained his character so well. I used to love Porsche, but last episode he made me bad about giving Pete up to Vegas. Now after reading your analysis I have been more enlighted. You really pointed out some parts of his personality that I have not noticed. He is truly more selfish that I initially thought. At first I gave him a pass for not confinding in Kinn, but then as you said Kinn has proved his love to him and Porsche does not return his dedication back to the same extent. At least in these past episodes. The reason why their relationship might take steps backwards is because of Porsche. They were supposed to start over but now it is Porsche hiding secrets. He also chose to trust Vegas and honestly his reasoning did not even make sense. He knows how manipulative Vegas is, he has seen how he used everyone around him and Chay even got dragged into this mess. Yet, he chose to ask Vegas for help instead of Kinn, and he knows Kinn does not trust Vegas as he should not. As an audience we know that Vegas ha changed but Porsche has no reason to view him as trustworthy.
All in all, great analysis, especially on Porche's part.
Notice how Vegas' lighter magically disappears from his hands when he is about to push Pete against the wall? I knew Vegas was a magician since he always appears out of thin air and then disappears without a trace.
I agree. In this scenario i feel like ‘’I need you’’ holds so much more power than ‘’i love you’’.…
I think if he said I love you it would feel out of place and rushed. His choice of words had more meaning and expressed their dynamic better. It represented their current situation perfectly.
Yes I do agree. It was better that Vegas said 'I need you.' in the series it fits perfectly well. In the novel…
I consider Vegas and Pete 's story to be different from the novel, as it is, and so their dynamic and relationship are different as well. Pete is Vegas' light in the novel, but in the series Pete is just as broken making him more like a reflection of Vegas instead of the light in his life.
I was so upset with Vegas' father. We could get a romantic lunch date but he ruined everything. It was so sad to see the food on the floor when Vegas had put so much effort into cooking beforhand. His love language is acts of services and physical touc. Which is why he is so touchy with Pete and tries to take care of him. He has so much love to give but his trauma holds him back.
"I need you" I am glad Vegas said he needed Pete instead of saying he loves him. It would feel too rushed otherwise. Using the word "need" demonstrates better his feelings and their relationship.
If I had to describe their relationship I would say it is complicated, consuming, addictive, intense.
Their relationship has not reached the stage of love but there is certainly the potential. For now, they are each others'drug. They make each other feel good when they allow themselves to get immersed in the presence of each other, but when they come back to their senses and are faced with their trauma they give pain and suffering to each other. Just like drugs make you feel good for a moment only for you to feel terrible once its effect wears off.
They are the only ones who witnessed one another's deep hidden side. Pete on the surface emits light and positivity, when deep inside him there is darkness. Vegas expresses violence when deep inside he is filled with tenderness. When they are together they are completely naked emotionally which makes them vulnerable. They are incapable of hurting each other intentionally but they keep doing so because their trauma is too deep. They are each others'drug, unable to live without one another.

😂 Yes my thoughts on Pete in ep 13
