TBH I kind of wanted all (young) YiHeon to stay. I liked DeukPal's personality, but the kid should've had a chance to grow up and become an adult too.

I also wanted SYH to somehow finagle JaeMin out of juvie. He's the one who actually showed a lot of character growth and he deserved to be rescued. Did the novel address that?

Also... Bong JaeHyun really does have beautiful eyes, LOL.

I guess I'll have to see if there's any kind of TL of the novel - even MTL, if readable - and see what the BL side of it was like.

Is this how the novel ends, too?

I meant, he couldn't have gone to them asking for money before they realised he's actually their old friend Joe. Wut wouldn't have had it anyway (he has some money problems and he also has a family), and maybe Sol wasn't the kind of close friend you can go ask for so much money that you probably won't ever manage to pay back.

But more than that, I think it's reason 2.

I'm getting whiplash from all the sudden happenings.

How come this pair and that pair fell in love?! They didn't even get to see each other all that much. Now there's talk of marriage and we're in episode 5. What the...

The old Yang master and his wife took two eps to die, LOL (I'm not laughing because they died, but it took two eps!!) and then Guo Jing found himself a soulmate in about 5 minutes flat. And THEN Yang Kang found himself a soulmate in about one minute, flat. What is this, an arms race?!

Is Yang Kang getting redeemed? Because Padme, errr, I mean Guo Jing said - ~There is still good in him, I can see it!~ LOL, I thought the main ship was changing or something out of the blue. But wait, GJ was also already engaged? WHEN?!

I've decided to just go with the flow, even if they're skipping rocks over the surface of the actual story, LOL. And I want Yang Kang redeemed, because he's cute. What, why can't I be superficial like that? THEY are too.

So there are two arguments to be made here.

1. He was desperate and made a decision out of freaking out in the shock of the moment, and also he is NOT the same Joe so he is NOT Sol's or Wut's friend, close enough to ask such a big lump of money out of them.

2. Ming freaking OWES him. He owes him his life, his actual money that are now out of reach, his home that he can't return to, his old profession back. Ming owes him everything. So Ming is the one who has to pay for it all (even if it means Joe has to be in the bargain to get it).

It's fiction. People can be as delusional or accepting as we want them to be, in fiction.

In real life, LOL, they'd probably pack Joe AND Ming to a psychiatrist to treat their schyzophrenia or something.

Sol's reaction is actually making me think really highly of Porsche. HE doesn't look so well during that scene, like he's ready to run away at the drop of a hat, LOL. He looks actually, real-life shocked, and I loved that. The fact that Wut is in the front acting up like he's mad at Joe for not telling them (I mean... what the heck could he tell them anyway and not be considered a madman?!) is covering up Sol's reaction a bit, but if you look at him, he's PERFECT in that scene.

Also, hehehe, this is based on a danmei Chinese novel. They like rebirth in those novels (trust me, I love them too, they're my favourites). Nobody bats an eye for being transmigrated into a novel, or reborn, or even just paired with a System and sent to right the universe up, LOL. And nobody in-world is ever shocked to find out that, hahaha~

But why condors? Is there a big eagle in the steppes that gives the impression of being a condor? I thought condors only exist in the Andes. (I get the wrong TL/adaptation, LOL, but I seriously cannot link Mongolia with condors. Condors belong with Aztecs and Toltecs and Olmecs and blood-soaked Sun Temples in my mind. I might be biased.)

It depends on what you're recognising as chemistry. I think the main characters of this drama are on fire together and they don't even need to smooch to show you that.

If you're used to the in-your-face Thai BL dramas, for example, anything more subtle will pass right by you, IMHO. Myself, I prefer the subtle approach. When I need p0rn, I know where I can watch it. That being said, there are plenty Thai dramas that are not really explicit and still get the message through, so this is not pitting one type of doing dramas against the other.

Cdramas just do it a different way and there's no need to compare the two (or three, or more, if we throw in j-doramas or Western m/m stories and whatnot). I mean, what's the point? They're just different and that's that. And chemistry really does come through even if they're not on a bed doing heavier stuff than just looking at each other, LOL.

Okay so where does the Condor part come from?! Did they have anything like Condors in Ancient China?

Coming over from the other (longer ep count) page, this seems to be cut up in smaller releases to pass the censorship rules, so the one actually airing is this shorter length one and who knows when the rest will come, too.

So copy-pasted from the other thread, first impressions:

Errr, Guo Jing... are you a bit soft in the head?! Who the heck does what this guy does on his first day in civilisation, LOL? And he's not even among the first in the main cast?! What the heck is going on? (But I still like him, hahaha~, and I love his struggle with the white-haired guy who's heartbroken over his snake, that was hilarious.)

So many threads linked in the first three eps and we're not even a whole day's adventure in - will the DaoZhang survive? (Because it looks like Guo Jing forgot about getting his medicine FAST).

I also like Ouyang Feng, is he going to be a bad guy? And he kind of seems to be a bit slower than Rong anyway, LOL, will there be a twisted romance there?

Meng ZiYi as the evil demoness!!! YES please!! I've missed Zoey Meng :D I hope they don't kill her off too fast.

Is it just me or does Wang HongYi look a bit like Chen ZheYuan when he smiles? :D

I already got a bit lost among all the missing kids, sword brothers or sisters or marriage partners, and it looks like each and every one of them isn't their actual parents' kid but someone else's and hidden to be kept safe.

This is not half-bad, I'll be sticking with it for a while.

I saw him in The Blue Whisper, he was the cat-like demon tribe/soul with the amazing braids, LOL. He's cute.

Wait, I'm lost... is this drama the same with The Legend of Heroes?! Because they share leads and charas, are they actually different dramas?!

Like seriously... you've put on your kinky sexy time suit, you've lighted all those fire hazard candles, you set the table and plated the food, you freaking OPENED THE DOOR EXPECTING YOUR LOVER... and then you just meekly go with your opponent to check out your presentation that you still have DAYS to check out, you have a romantic candle dinner WITH HIM, you fall for the stupid oopsie my clothes are dirty trick and then you snap at your actual lover, defending your ex-crush... Oh and also staying there like he's dead waiting for Ter to maybe actually kiss him?!

WHAT THE HELL was that?!

Also, does Taem actually have any expectations of Yak?! Why is she acting so shook up when he fails to kiss her though there was the perfect opportunity? I thought she already has another love interest and isn't into Yak more than as a friend. Drama writers what the f are you doing here?!!

Is Yak so unstable as a boxer that just a fake breakup (we know it's not a fake love, but anyway) manages to get him basically delusional and have him lose a match so badly?! And why is he seeing all kinds of things all over the place? Does that mean he gets to have Kao rooting through his psyche?

The only normal one this ep was Cher. I like him. He should smack both brothers over their heads with their heaviest training weight. It won't cause much damage, since their heads are made of wood, but it might be worth a try.

I refuse to believe Wandee is that stupid.

I guess this is where they'll start changing things a bit from the novel. IIRC, the bone finding was closer to the end, I guess not happening so fast in the drama. Maybe Ming really will get a redemption arc.

In which case, I hope he suffers a lot before his HE.

Or maybe they won't even find Joe's bones?! What if they dare make it a coma indeed, with older Joe just sleeping it away and newer Joe just waiting to get to switch back their bodies?...

I am of two minds about it. On the one hand, it'll shake things up a bit and we'd get Poom as the Joe who gets his HEA. On the other, having Ming really see Joe's remains shook him up the most in the novel. If there's anything to drive him insane, that's it. I... I rather want him to go insane LOL.

I don't even care, I'm here basking in Joe and mom and Joe and friends overload, LOL.

Also, everybody and their mom gets great haircuts but Ming's bro, hahaha~

Just a quick note - everybody brought their A game to this drama. I don't remember any other Thai drama so well-acted. Special shoutouts to Poom and Up - and Porsche also had a great moment in that recognition scene.
