I'm after ep 3 and I couldn't care less who and why they did it all. That's not a good sign for such a short series.

It's good. Don't start it now, wait til next Monday when all the rest of the eps are released and you can binge-watch it. (You will probably want to).

It's not BL, censored or not, but it's a good mystery/costume drama with nice bromance and an all-men main cast LOL. But hey, Guo Cheng (Lan JingYi) has a not-so little role in here too :)

If Mr. Tao / Mu Yesheng turns out to be related to Zhang Ping, I'm going to be so p*ssed.

That had better not be a motivator for him to go against the Dowager Empress. He doesn't need one, he's stubborn and righteous enough on his own.

He didn't appear yet, or so I think. But I'm at ep 17, I think he's making an appeareance now. He might be the mysterious Mr. JingHu, who can also play with the Water Illusion. But I can't tell yet, as I haven't seen him so far.

Hong Yao. The character's name is Wang Yan, I guess MoWen is either his given or his courtesy name (I think it's his courtesy name, since he's calling Lan Jue, "PeiZhi", which can only also be LJ's courtesy name - his father used to call him Lan Jue as a child.)

The first 4 volumes are released (and they're GORGEOUS, they include inside art, glossaries, etc), the 5th and final volume comes in May 2023. BD sends everywhere, no postage costs (there might be some exceptions) and they have the best prices (and keep doing sales).

If you meant the official release in ebook form, I don't know, really, I went and got all SSE danmei books they're releasing LOL, and they're all on paper. But the quality is amazing.

If you want an ebook version... the fan TL might be around somewhere.

Nope, the OST is great. The love theme (Feel You) might've been too present in some melo scenes, but overall, the music hits just right.

He does, offscreen though (important people get letters announcing it).

But he dies in glory, as a general, among his people, after succeeding in his life work after sacrificing greatly for it (which is exactly what his character deserved and why it's the best ending for it all).

Watch it anyway, it's a good hurt.

And there are plenty others to get attached to, and they survive.

He's too young to be him, and he's not in the DaLi Temple either, so he'd have no reason or means to get insider info.

I'm betting Mu Yesheng is the flower-pruning, bird-training carefree Mr Tao, LOL.

I don't even care the bromance fans will call me obsessed or not - MoWen is freaking in love with PeiZhi and nobody can convince me otherwise.

He was basically in tears when he thought PeiZhi will die because of Zhang Ping, and ready to take down the world so that PeiZhi is saved. That goes so far beyond bromance that you can't even see it in the distance any more, LOL.

Also, I think there's yet another chance that PeiZhi and Zhang Ping turn out to be brothers (which would be awesome.)

From all the xianxia/wuxia I've watched, it's only all the women in The Untamed that are self-determined, non-childish, decisive (and some even cruel because they feel like it). It's definitely a breath of fresh air, LOL.Unless we count movies too, where I'd also add Hero.

Well I caved in and just finished watching all released eps. Dammit. Now what?!

... At this point in time, my absolute favourite is MoWen / Wang Yan. I'm keeping fingers crossed he doesn't have ulterior motives for being BFFs with Lan Jue. I'm dying for those secret half-smiles (and the dimples). And he can make dough LOL.

Sadly I think Peizhi and Zhang Ping won't end up being half brothers in the end... If the mysterious woman didn't spend that much time around Peizhi's dad, then ZP might've already been born (and to someone else, too) by then, even if they end up related somehow. Oh well. It sounded nice, but we can't have nice things anyway.

PS Also, Jing BoRan's left ear is a whole story by itself.

(You should never encourage me when it's anything about soundtracks, I fall in love with some dramas just because of their OSTs and can talk about them for ages, I'm trying hard not to give you all the links to some of the most beautiful Xueran Chen OSTs I've listened to over the years, right now, LOL

...Okay, just the one. It's from the OST of Guardian - another censored danmei drama, based on the novel by Priest - also author of Faraway Wanderers, adapted into drama as Word of Honor, an actually almost open danmei if you can believe it). It's called "We Won't Be Falling" and it's pretty epic, IMHO :)

Which danmei are you reading, if it's not too much to ask? I've been gorging myself with danmei for the past three years, LOL. (I blame MDZS for it.) I am always in the mood for something new :) (Myself, I'm currently deep diving into Copper Coins by MuSuLi, it's been amazing so far, and the fan TL is also great!)

My first kdrama was Save the Last Dance for Me (also, another amazing OST :D), and Ji Sung being so, so young in it :) (but I can't rewatch anything but some FMVs now, LOL. I have no idea how I managed it then :D)

Hallyu dramas have progressed so much over the years, and I am pretty happy about it :)

IMHO, JC's problem with WWX wasn't that he kept comparing himself to WWX and coming up short (though that too was true before he became the clan leader), but that he saw how loyal WWX was to LWJ and even Wen Qing and Wen Ning, and felt cheated. Because he's actually right - he doesn't know all the details, and WWX did leave the Jiang Clan for the sake of two renegades and some remnants of a traitorous clan, and he can't compensate the major loss caused by the Wen Clan even with his (JC's) life being saved by the two Wen siblings. It's a major betrayal no matter how you look at it.

And even more, JC lost his core because he was sacrificing himself for WWX and giving himself up so that WWX escaped. After the SunShot Campaign, given he didn't know anything about the core swap, he just couldn't rationalize what the heck was WWX doing, defecting to the conquered clan's side...

I still think he - JC - would hurt all demonic cultivators he caught because they were NOT WWX, not because he was hunting down WWX while he was gone for all those years. And that's true (brotherly) love right there.

JC is one of my favourites there :) (though nobody comes close to WWX, naturally :) )

Jiang Cheng, the vastly misunderstood brother. Not that he isn't a bit extra tsundere at times, LOL. (But wouldn't you be, too, if YOUR brother was WWX and he was dug out and eaten by LWJ? :D)*

*I've been reading a lot of Chinese webnovels these past few years, and they have lots of idioms, one of which is the precious cabbage being dug out by a pig (a patiently-raised son or daughter is taking up with someone the parents wouldn't approve of, LOL).

Take the trailer and multiply it with 35-40-mins long episodes (29 of them). The drama is very much delivering what the trailer promised. This is going to be a good one :)
