Probably to give the secondary characters some of the spotlight and to help their character growth. No worries,…
Just wait and wait and wait. Till when? You people have been repeating that ad nauseam. Wait till episode 39 and then go oops? Wait till season 2? Nobody waits for the main hero. That is why they are the maim hero. Wth.
The storyline is very long and the pace is good so I guess it will continue even in second season cause the intro…
Perfectly said. Not to mention, they all keep talking about second season, like it is a given. Unless this show hits big and it hasn't, there will be no second season. Or Tencent might decide they will simply scrap Tang San and pass on to the next book.
No, it's not too soon to critique the drama, we are already one quarter in.There is also no reason why one should…
You are asking people to keep writing good comments when the drama is turning worse and worse, not me. We are 13 episodes in from a 40 episode show. Wait how long, till episode 39?
An adaptation must be different, yes. It's inevitable with a show. The problem with what you say is that we went…
Yes, these two more episodes were soooo great for Tang San. You know, the main lead. Excellent. That is sarcasm BTW. You don't develop your supporting characters by forgetting your main lead. Unless you are an incompetent writer.
This drama keeps going from bad to worse. Where is thr main character? Hello Mr. Screenwriter? You remember Tang San? You know, the main lead you forgot for over 25% of the show? It's something to see how incompetent the guy is. If you develop the support you do it while developing the lead, who keeps having highlights in order to keep it all going. Instead here - Tang San who?

Nah. If they want to make shows about realism then the solution is easy, simply write your own original dramas. Don't pick up Douluo Dalu, a very famous novel with a very famous main character, the centerpiece of the show. Tang San is an impotent wimp. Literally everyone bar one is better than him here. If you think that people want to watch stories about that, you are in for a surprise.

Reading comprehension is your friend. No where did I ask people not to enjoy it. In fact, it is the person above who is asking for only positivity. Nice spin, 2/10

No, Tang San is not the protagonist any longer.
In fact, in these episodes, as time progressed, he has become wallpaper. This is a hero driven drama and yet the hero has no highlights.
Further development of supporting characters is fine. Further development at the expense of the protagonist is not fine. The worst offender is Xiao Wu but they all sucked blood from Tang San. The next two episodes are no different and you have passed over a quarter of the show.
Tang San's highlights have either been removed or given to others. Wait? For how long do you expect people to wait for the script to remember Douluo is Tang San's story. Oh and I highly suggest you check out the spoilers.
Same here....I hope it reaches billion I hear the first eps reached 250 million views
No, it didn't. The highest count of any episode was just slightly above 100 million and it is going down now. 100 is decent. A billion is nothing, it needs way more than that.
Can someone tell me if this show is doing well in ratings etc? I heard it is a big deal for it to be broadcast…
It's fine but nothing outstanding. The ratings are going down due to Chinese New Year which means hopefully the script finally gets a move to keep people in the seats.
I did not read the novel nor watched the anime version (glad I didn't), maybe for the first time viewers, it might…
No, it's not too soon to critique the drama, we are already one quarter in. There is also no reason why one should spread positive vibes. This isn't kindergarten. If people have criticism that isn't mindless ranting they absolutely should express it. You have to remember, people who watch dramas are not mostly fans. Xiao Zhan fans may be willing to watch and wait because of him (I am waiting because of the book) but most people will give it 3 episodes and they are out if it doesn't grab them. And this show's highlights must be related to the main male lead. Instead they were either erased or given to other characters. If Xiao Zhan fans are happy to wait and wait, please do. Others aren't. I find it ironic because Xiao Zhan fans should be furious with this show and instead, they keep trying to whitewash it. He got scr**** by the script. Wake up.
I understand people who've read the novel or watched the anime aren't too satisfied with the drama, but some need…
An adaptation must be different, yes. It's inevitable with a show. The problem with what you say is that we went from Tang San the main lead, to Tang San, the wallpaper. The screenwriter has lost himself in trying to find creative ways to show supporting characters and build them up on Tang San's back. The main male lead is nowhere to be found. Don't expect this to change.
I don't know how much he changed after episode 5 but based on what I saw I would not say he is wimpy, naive, uneducated,…
That was my point. This is a site where people will share their opinions. Not everyone will like even something that is a big hit. The number of people who dislike this here is an absolute minority yet Xiao Zhan fans are crying about toxicity, negativity and labeling people as haters. See, even you do it. You call those who dislike this drama haters. It's fascinating how thin skinned you are and how everyone needs to either gush or shut up.
is it just me or does tang san's character feel a bit...inconsistent?
He is literally the weakest, except for the food guy. Male lead drama has turned into a mess. In order to pad the support, the screenwriter has reduced him to nothing because he 1) never took the time to properly establish the lead and his character before branching out and 2) because some of the most important highlights were removed from the lead or given to others.
It's fascinating how you think you are on some Xiao Zhan fan site. This is literally a drama site, where people…
The more you post, the funnier it gets. Literally the absolute majority likes this drama and yet you are crying in the comments about the very few negative reviews. On a site that among other things, is for leaving reviews. Fascinating.
I have watched until episode 9. I have been enjoying the whole drama because I'm a drama person. Not interested…
It's fascinating how you think you are on some Xiao Zhan fan site. This is literally a drama site, where people discuss dramas, both those they like and those they don't. You are in the wrong place if you think everyone should shut up about things they don't like.
