Both episodes were amazing, the parents' fight is painfully realistic to the point that it's almost uncomfortable. Such great writing and acting.

She handles the whole household and these two can't even wash the dishes. Her husband comes home from work and demands food but is she a stay at home wife? She also works. So what if she is middle aged, does that mean she can't want to feel pretty at least sometimes.

Her husband insulted her pride by sneaking in that second hand dress without telling her but it's not about it being second hand. That it is from a neighbour is what set her off. She was right too because the woman made sure to humiliate her.

There is nothing wrong with her needs and wants. But she should know her husband better, he is old school and he died get it. Once she cools off maybe she can try a different approach though there is a lot of resentment there that has been piling up for years.

I completely understand because I am like that myself. China is still changing when it comes to the traditional place and expectations of women and jiejie romance is such a good opportunity to dig around that. I don't know if this drama will work out in the end but right now the writer is doing well. It helps that Bai Baihe, the FL, is a really good actress so she has played her part extremely well. She clicks with Xiao Zhan so that dynamic of older woman/younger man is great, considering he is also nailing his part. Let's hope it works out in the end, I always want more well written and acted stories about this topic.
