You know how the FL make a substitute of herself? The FL could have just gone on with the marriage with the substitute.…
It's because the puppet is not fully functional I think, it cannot absolutely mimic the original apart from the visual. You saw how it had to imitate movement, even for bowing during the ceremony because it didn't know what to do. So if she had left the puppet in her place, it would have been discovered.

Extremes spoil it for everyone.

When I say TC wouldn't risk it, I mean because we know how the book ends. If they changed it to SE now that would cause unhappiness.

But generally speaking, actually XZ fans love to watch his characters suffer. He cries so prettily 😂 So if ever there is a script like that I am sure all normal people will simply cry a lot while eating chocolate and enjoying it all 😂

Title The Longest Promise Spoiler
She thinks he died because of her.She was a literal child when she saw another child die and she thinks it is…
In the end, it is about personal perception. Whether objectively true or not, she thinks what happened when he saved her triggered an event where not only he died but his mother was disfigured, exiled and lost her only child. The amount of guilt a 10yo would feel would be massive.

That's trauma that would require long term professional help but she has no one to help her so she is stuck with that perceived guilt. There is a way out though, the revival spell so she is fixated on it as a way of undoing what happened and easing her guilt. A very common trauma response too.

We will see how it plays out from here on, because as you say there is a lot more at play. The book was changed by a lot but I think she will mature as time passes and we will see changes.

Yes, it is absolutely angst filled. The novel itself is, then we were told the drama actually made it worse. But in the end, it is a good one.
Tbh I don't think Tencent would risk the wrath of XZ fans 😂

Happy ending but not without consequences. I have to spoil it a little bit but in the book she gives him half of her life span in order for him to live. It is a HE in general but there is that little twist.

It's because his Master uses magic to hide his star to make it seem like he died. But she makes an offering to…
That's the thing - he does.

But above all Shi Ying is a moral character. He knows that once he was framed by the concubine, everyone but Zhu Yan suddenly changed their behaviour and started vilifying him. Zhu Yan though believed in him and even went against imperial orders. He also knows now she wants to revive him.

So though he knows she will bring him death, at the same time he cannot ignore her character and her actions. He lets her live because it is the right, moral thing to do, even knowing the consequences.

This makes me think if the concubine didn't see Zhu yan. Maybe Shi Ying wouldn't get into being framed by her.…
No, the same thing would have happened. Mermaids have been slaves for thousands of years. Her sacrifice to frame Shi Ying would be considered a great thing. And she targeted Shi Ying on purpose. She would have found a different way but she would have done it.

The drama uses Zhu Yan as a tool to tell you about him. He is supremely talented, intelligent, etc. So mermaids need to take him out before he takes the throne because once he does, the country would stabilise. With him gone, and his father incompetent, you see the result - greater division, corruption and a collapsing country. Which is what mermaids want because they fight against it.

I don't quite understand why would Zhu Nan be the doom of Shi Ying just because she did a death offering when…
It's because his Master uses magic to hide his star to make it seem like he died. But she makes an offering to him, who is still alive, with that flower that Shi Ying revived with his magic. So a conflict occurs, she gets a marking on her forehead in the shape of the flower and is marked as one to bring him death.

Of course as many stories, this one has the aspect of asking whether prophecies are avoidable, about free will and how much are they in reality self-fulfilling.

But she will kill him I don't know for what reason or to what wrong things did shi ying did that she wants to…
It's actually going to be very interesting when that plot point happens. You have seen some small hints of it, I don't want to spoil it for you but it will be set up well.

Zhu Yan was about ten years old when that incident happened. As a result of it, she thinks that another child died, because he tried to help her. She also thinks his mother greatly suffered, physically and mentally due to it. If you don't think this would induce long-lasting trauma then I don't know what to tell you. She would feel guilt and if she found a way to undo this terrible thing, of course she would take it and keep trying to make it happen.

There is nothing illogical or unbelievable about this plot point.

She thinks he died because of her.

She was a literal child when she saw another child die and she thinks it is her fault. Of course it is stuck in her head, it would be severe trauma for any child. Except perhaps sociopaths.

It is quite something to see Xiao Zhan portray Shi Ying. On the surface he should be a cold character but actually there is none of the usual rigidity present when it comes to portraying such types. Instead there is nobility of character and especially dignity, while below that a quiet type of kindness mixed with compassion. It doesn't seem complex on the surface and yet it is.

It changes nothing my dear. The drama will shatter records as usual.
Take a good look. It's all pretty much the same comment under different names. This happens for every XZ drama. It's amusing that they think we can't tell after years of the same operation 😂

You gave this drama a 1 star. Just say you are an anti and move on, it's funny how you think it isn't obvious…
Ah antis, you amuse me. You try so hard yet it's been years and you still haven't figured out all your bitterness is only affecting you and it has no effect on XZ. I almost pity you. Almost. Keep being bitter I guess but what a waste of time.

Try going out, breathe some fresh air. Being this bitter isn't a healthy way to live.

I always wonder if you antis have reached rock bottom and then you prove me wrong. Sure, sure, that would pass only with desperate illiterates 😂
