Basically, there are the gangsters (who make do with small time traffic and such and have no hope in heaven to…
His dad was in the 115th, it was directly under LB. The drama starts in 1975 so it is a very realistic period of being under investigation, especially as his father was a commander. The guilt by association was crazy back then and especially when it comes to such huge issues like a coup and treason. Tbh, it is actually most likely that had Mao lived, this thing would have dragged on forever.
It is enough to mention a few things and Chinese get it. They are never going to state it directly because of censorship. Like this everyone understands and that is enough but it is very troublesome for international audiences.
In fact, I suppose most people didn't notice because you look at subtitles, but what is said when Ye Fang and CHJ are talking about him being an official, their mouth movements don't fit. That is another sensitive subject that obviously got changed a bit later on. It is best to be cautious and hint at things and then have no problems.
Thinking back to the very beginning and Chunsheng's talk to Shrimp in the restaurant. He told him sooner or later, life makes us all bow our heads.
This is where we are in the drama I think. Who is the realist that bows, conforms to reality and "how things are done" (even if they are not moral/ethical/etc) and who is the idealist, who fights to keep their original intentions and who will stick with their beliefs.
The scriptwriter is intertwining the fate of these two groups and through Chunsheng we get to see the one that will hold on to their believes and through HHL we get to see who changes and bows their heads to pressures of society that is complex and often unfair.
There are so many foreshadowing moments in this drama, I don't think they wasted a single scene.
Basically, there are the gangsters (who make do with small time traffic and such and have no hope in heaven to…
No, his father's troubles have nothing to do with dementia. He is in political hot water because he was connected to Lin Biao. I talked about that somewhere below, it is very clear based on his troop designation.
Wondering in what context is she saying all this. Can't wait for tomorrow's episodes
I think there might be some problems with Guohua. It doesn't say directly but he shouldn't be in this position after just two years in the army. He is advancing too quickly. I feel like today may have been slightly foreshadowing.
That other soldier whose father is a big shot said during inspection he wants to advance solely on his own merits. Chunsheng making friends out of adversaries based on his own efforts. So it could be something happened that exposes Guohua as being pushed by connections. This is just my guess though.
I don’t think it will be over this argument. I saw some previews showing that XSC was sent in some kind of battlefield…
If the spoilers are correct, it was a demining accident of some sort. In that behind the scenes special, she seems to be still with him after and then presumably they break up. Possibly even Chunsheng himself lets her go because he may believe at that moment he has nothing to offer her. Of course, she will accept and part ways but I do think that here, we see first real cracks in their relationship and her general shift in attitude.
I already posted something else as a reply to you above, we posted at the same time lol, so I won't repeat it..
HHL just there and adding no substance. Xiaomei is the one that is always backing XCS while HHL is the type of…
Sooner or later, we all have to grow up and Chunsheng is going to do it the hard way. Maybe Xiaomei is not his first love but she will be his forever love, love of a mature man and woman.
I know people romanticise first loves but I have always found mature love more romantic. It is when you know life, you know how much people can hurt you and you still dare to open yourself anyway to that special someone.
What was it that Roman Rolland said - "There is only one true heroism in the world: to see the world as it is, and to love it. " That will be Chunsheng after his injury and their love, after his first love.
RIGHT? What exactly does she mean? XCS is selfish? The same guy that is helping take care of ur mother, rebuild…
It is what I mentioned yesterday, they all got dumped into wider society, the giant dye vat, and it is a rare person who doesn't change color. I am afraid she seems to be adoptng darker colors. He saved her mother's life from a fire. Even if he had done nothing else, that should have stopped her. But I think she is already favoring Guohua and she takes his side here. Chunsheng cannot give her what she craves so she seeks to break it off in such a way that it is presented as his fault, not hers. She can walk away and feel at peace. Win/win in her mind.
I hope we can finish up this part of the story soon. Even if Xiaomei didn't exist at all in the story, I would want XCS free now.
That preview is annoying me. That is a classic let me say it is your fault so that I can keep feeling good when we break up tactics, when HHL attacks XCS but over that particular thing?! I had to replay that because I couldn't believe my ears.
Now, I remember something. Xiao Zhan drawing a portrait of the girl his buddy likes. That looks like a scene straight…
Except no, they are not. They only have the web distribution rights. This wasn't produced by Tencent and is red resource of CCTV, Yang Xiaopei (Xixi) and Beijing TV. In fact the primary mover of this drama is Yang Xiaopei, founder and CEO of Xixi media.
She worked at Shanghai Radio and Television Station, then left, established Shanghai Ningmeng Film and Television Media then quit and founded Xixi Film and Television company.
It’s always funny to see Xiao Zhan antis go to all of his currently airing dramas and sh!t on them in the comment…
They should also try education. At least then their posts wouldn't sound like they were written by a child that has never cracked open a history book in their life 🤦♀️
They are really well written characters.PS.. If this was real life, I won't think bad of HH for thinking of herself…
Probably not just insecure towards XCS but anyone successful. He will always wonder if she will choose someone else who can give her an even better life. Both Ye siblings have really terrible foundations for their marriages.
I think he discovers after, yes. That is a great move, to let it happen after.
I think I am a broken record but the scriptwriter is excellent. And I am especially happy his female characters are so well written. Like Xiaohui today. So good.

Yes, I won't blame her either. It only takes once to be starving and you will never forget it. She also has a sick mother. We have a God's perspective as an audience and we know XCS will prosper but she doesn't.
It really wasn't meant to be and also shows why it is meant to be with Xiaomei.
The scriptwriter has been giving us a lot of little hints so that conversation between Qi Tian and Hongling comes to mind. Everything has a price. So what will be the price for a good life with Guohua (yes, she marries him) ?
If I were to guess, Guohua is never going to let her forget all the things he did for her. Qi Tian and Chunsheng did it without expecting anything but Guohua is not them. So I think that will be the price.

IMO you have to love yourself first, in order to be able to love other people. I don't think there is anything wrong in putting yourself first either.
I see society as a vat of dye. You get dunked in and you come out with a different color than the original. A very, very few people can stick firmly to keep their original intentions. That is just life. So how much will HHL change?
In He Hongling's case I fear that she is going to tip over so far, that her love for herself will end up hurting other people. And very likely in the end, she will hurt herself too.
Look at the ending of ep 10. She goes with Li, finds out he cannot guarantee her pictures which would help her climb the ladder. Meets Guohua, knows she cannot afford to alienate him and Li is obviously not someone that will help her. All the other girls are a welcome additional audience. So she attacks Li, boosting Guohua's ego, that she knows is fragile. But that kind of calculation and manipulation will eventually bring misery.
It is apparent where all this is coming from considering her history, what a great character set up, but I think we clearly see now why she will leave Chunsheng. He simply won't be able to give her the big dream that she has, that keeps expanding. And she will always in the end choose herself. I don't judge that but I don't think you can live a happy life like that either. After all, we do share it with other people. Ah good scriptwriter!
Ye Fang is right, deep down He Hongling loves herself the most. As more of the world opens up to her, desires and ambition grow. In that case, can you really stay the same person and not change? Good scriptwriter, really good.

I was prepared for worse as the ratings were awful, we had to start from the basement but in the end the Sea did it.

All artists want to have their dramas shown on TV channels, not just Web, and they all crave the famous cvb 1+. It is a real achievement.
The other are live ratings and yes, they are very good.
