Indeed I don't think there has to be a kiss or sex scene (even though I do like when they're included, when the acting is good they can make everything a little bit more special) but ultimately I think it's the chemistry between the actors that makes a show a good one, and this is definitely one of them. They made my heart melt just by looking at each other! I don't think the story in the series flows very smoothly though and the ending was just ok for me.

It was just my feeling, watching episode after episode I kept feeling as if I missed something that happened between the two, but I didn’t. I do think that was development, I just felt that something was missing here and there, like a gap between one important moment between them and the other. A lot of things were implicit. I think that maybe without the ban they could have shown their feelings through their dialogues a lot more.

I really really want to read everything that wasn’t included in the series. If I don’t I know I will miss out on a lot... I’m sure there are a lot of beautiful moments, but I’m still not sure... I know that if I start it I will read it until the end. If I miss this couple a lot I will read it for sure tho. It’s sad that there aren’t that many great bl couples and they have to ruin the good ones like it happened in this series. I’m so mad at the chinese government. That’s why I’m doubtful about reading it, I’m afraid I won’t like YZ as much as I liked him in the series because of that maturity and caring side that you mention that I really liked in the series. I really liked him because he seems different from the other dominant characters of other BLs, but if he’s just like the others in the novel I think I’d be a little disappointed. I wanted to read the novel, but my only concern is that I once read a comment about the fact that YZ in the novel is way more "aggressive" if I remember correctly and I really like the character in the series, how he only wants to protect XY and would never hurt him, so I don't want to see him differently and read that he rapes XY or abuses of him in any way... kinda like Gu Hai... I also really liked Addicted and I'm also reading the novel, but I really dislike that aspect about him. So I think I'm gonna pass this one. But I'm still conflicted because I want to know the full story, with all the beautiful scenes TT
The gaps in the storyline were really disappointing though, we've seen them become really close without seeing any development... very sad. I wish that stupid ban wasn't real :(

I haven't read the novel, but from what I've seen in the series what you say is true, PZ started to "date" ZZ just to get a girl after all, he used him... but I was curious about the development of their relationship, like if at one point Peng Ze realizes he actually likes Zhen Zhen or something. I hope their relationship doesn't stay like that and it progresses. It's also hard to tell from the series, because of all the censorship, at what stage their relationship actually is, if something actually happened between them at this point (I think it did tho).
YZ and XY looked like a married couple in ep. 28 (of course *^*) they look so perfect together, and I can't get enough of Zhen Zhen, I wish he and Peng Ze had more screen time. Luckily we can see them in the next episode too!
I'm a little more than half-way through the first episode and I think Takenaka is so strong to be able to put up with all that. Probably I would have already given up if it was me :( I admire him.

I don’t mind if it’s a bit slow, this season was already pretty slow, but I liked it. I want to see how the stories progress, because I think a lot can still happen. :) I also liked both LS2 and SS I didn’t find them draggy (maybe just a little bit, some parts of certain episodes). If it’s not boring I like both fast and slow paced. Each series has its own charms I think. ^^
Just finished watching ep. 25. Yuan Zong is so sweet and protective, he loves his Hsia Yao so much :3 ㅠㅠ I'm so happy that the chemistry between the actors mostly makes up for the lack of romance, in my opinion , they're that good! Obviously, I wish they'd show a little more, but I can still enjoy the show as it is. They've done a great job :)
