well, I don't know, but if I knew my friend started the fire that made me have horrible burns and ruin my adoption forever, I would be pissed at her too (misled anger is real thing)
random theory: what if the boy from the picture was son of her adoptive parents, as they had him as teens and so the grandma claimed he was her son, because it would bring shame on the family and ruin their studies/career? age difference was clear, as he probably died as a teen... it would explain why they had the room in their house

it's definitely not trash... not to mention I don't care about reviews, there are many good series that had many negative reviews and opposite...also, I see many positive reviews actually, The Independent gives bad review to almost everything and people who watched it normally couldn't finish it at this point, unless they skipped half of it...
