Have you watched Goblin? This drama has melodramatic scenes similar to what Goblin has, without the sad ending. The tone is similar, but this one has a bit less of the cheerful comedy.

I found it a bit boring, so my brain mostly tuned it out. I think Ahn Bo Hyun's voice has something to do with it too, it's difficult to put background music to go well with it.

If this had Goblin's OST the drama would be mindblowing. (It's still very good, but the OST matters, it helped Angel's Last Mission a lot as well)

In this genre it's a staple.

Once you reach adulthood your vocal cords are set in a certain way that makes it extraordinarily difficult to make certain sounds. For a Korean that's 3 times as hard to begin with, even if Shin Hye Sun is the smartest most talented person on Earth, I'm a wee bit skeptical about this part, because I feel this is at the extreme limit of human ability. (I suppose still possible, but a very small subset of ppl can do it without spending at least months practicing)

She also spoke in a language I'm fluent at in ep1 or 2 & it was decent to the point that I suspect they might've used generative AI to fix the accent, to a point.
