the Rise of Phoenixes (pretty flawed IMO), Advisor Alliance, and for high level of sheming, Ming Dynasty in 1566.

It was planned, the schedule never changed once it got released. It was released pretty late but I put that down to tencent and cctv fighting.

Both my sunshine and love designer are considered romance dramas and the other stuff are all backdrop which isn't quite what this drama is going for.

I wish that too, but i guess it make sense due to how busy they are? They are constantly on work mode, especially ML who's company is in trouble left and right. The drama purposely gave them a vacation so they could get together lol.

I like that dating and business rival conflict with each other, so there's some trust issue going on, and both leads prove they are ruthless when it comes to work, so the trust issues aren't unfound either. I like their push and pull, they are trying to get the upper hand over each other, so even when FL is being somewhat unreasonable, I still like it because she has upper hand and that's so rare in dramas!

It goes lowest to highest, rank 9 ~ 1. Then at 1, it's the four realms. Jin Gang (vajira), Zhi Xuan (??? this is srsly made up), Tian Xiang (celestial), Di Xian (earthly sage?). Most of the really awesome fighters can only get to rank 1 Jin Gang, then they can't advance further. A lot more are stuck like at 3 or 2. Cursory search says Xu Xiao is 2? There's something about real and fake realms but the drama hasn't really introduced that concept.

Sorry for the confusing terms, I only remember the ranks after I talked about the realms lol.

I mostly remember her ignoring or blocking him because he flake out on her for a date, or refuse to tell her things, or she got jealous. I could usually follow her reasoning as well as his, she's a little immature at times, but he can be too so.

This is also a big drama lol, ML is A list and the director is super well known and critically acclaimed.

For happy ending-ish, ep 45 I think. The actors give their best performance around ep 50 but it's angst so up to you.

HAHAHAHA maybe that too, he could just invite his wife to do cameo :P but he's surrounded by girls, so idk if that helps.

He had good chemistry with Chen Yao in Wuxin! :D I think he had more chemistry with Li Qin too, but maybe I just can't get over how young Li Gengxi looks, if this was Wang Churan (Serenade of Peaceful Joy's consort), I wouldn't find it so odd, but she might not fit the character, just an example.

He's taking these roles cos JoL was successful and these characters tend to more interesting than the romance dramas, give him more room to showcase his ability and prove his commercial success blah blah. omg feng zhiwei, *sniffs* you are reminding me how much better she could be, alas.

You can try the donghua for DLDL, there should be subs I think? The animation is very well received and it's permanently the best selling series on tencent's site lol. (it literally just sit at the top all the time and no series have ever budged it since the system have been introduced mid 2020?)

Who's worse, Xiao Wu or Liu Ran from Luoyang lol. Shame about the FL by the way, fair amount of people seem to like source novel/donghua FL.

I like Jiang Ni as a character, I don't care for the casting choice, but she's better than I thought, still not quite feeling the chemistry and I'm not huge on some of her pouts, but overall she's one of the better FLs. Hell, as a character, she has more depth + is more interesting than both JoL and MHH's FL.

I have no idea what they translate the realms to, so I'll just tell you the literal names, from lowest to highest, it's Jin Gang, then Zhi Xuan, Tian Xiang, Di Xian.

Little brother is born at Jin Gang, he's just naturally that awesome, he trades off his intelligence I guess narratively speaking. Old Huang is Zhi Xuan (he explains the levels after the fights in ep 5 or 6) Wang Xianzhi (no.2 guy) and Li Chungang is Tian Xiang. idk where ML is, probably not even Jin Gang, dude just started. The realms are at the top, rank 1, below it there's up to rank 9. I haven't read the novel so I can't really give you examples for those lol.

It's in the drama isn't it? From lowest to highest, it's 金刚 Jin Gang，指玄 Zhi Xuan，天象 Tian Xiang，地仙 Di Xian. Little brother naturally attained Jin Gang. Wang Xianzhi + Li Chungang, and the latest Xuanyuan Dapan (head of Xuanyuan family) is Tian Xiang. I can't actually remember this naturally cos the names don't correlate to anything. Author couldn't you use the regular levels like normal people lol.

JoL also rumour to have filmed more than it aired but you still don't see it now lol. SSS is rumour to have gone through multiple edits, so I think it was simply cut down to make the story tighter, I believe they sent 40 ep for the license. There's filming notice floating around that indicate that they filmed more ep (the version we are seeing) than in the script too.

Probably because MHH is funny and DLDL isn't (I have no idea because I didn't watch it). He wrote DLDL s1 before SSS s1 haha, He was writing SSS when Young Blood aired mid 2019. His female characters (from both original and adapted works) are usually fairly smart and capable, even the cutesy ones aren't annoying. Maybe there's other writers, idk.

It doesn't count international views, but do watch it on wetv or other official platforms because it tells them oversea audience are interested! That means platforms are more likely to sub more dramas + faster + generate revenue so they actually pay more attention to subs.

Waiting on the script, I'm guessing.

JoL is a tencent drama, tencent pictures + china lit (tencent subsidiary) + new classics media (china lit subsidiary). It's on iqiyi because tencent also sold it to iqiyi. MHH have the same production companies, and they sold it exclusively to iqiyi, because tencent video, penguin pictures subsidiary (tencent pictures and penguin pictures are competing subsidiaries, it's little easier to distinguish in chinese) didn't offer as much resources as iqiyi. MHH s2 have since been taken back, I'm sure tencent will air the next season.

cctv actually pays measly amount, but it's good for exposure to wider audience. JoL's commercial success was much much higher, but its budget was also much higher because it was filmed at height of production cost. JoL have more chance of a sequel for SSS, at least it has a script.
