I wanted to watch it, but ... why did they cast the same actors as in Joy of Life? It looks bad, they were brother…
Pretty sure they did it on purpose to cash out on JoL while waiting for SSS and JoL s2, SSS should come out at the end of the year, JoL s2 is still waiting to be filmed. Both Xinli (production company) and yuewen (ip holder) purposely do this for ip development purposes. I'm pretty sure tencent didn't expect this to be popular considering its investment level isn't that high, but it ended up being popular anyways.
Anyways, just pass on it and wait Sword Snow Stride with Zhang Ruoyun :)
this one might be to maintain popularity in face of all the new dramas coming out, dt appledog's time might be…
it's regular release schedule for a webdrama, they just didn't utilise the chinese new years period well when they should have. do you need subs, if you don't, there should be all episodes out today, since vvip/on demand ep get the last 10 ep in about 3 hours. if you do, come back in a week or two.
Slow as heck, great cast, long stares, cute moments. If that's what you generally like then go ahead.
Ai Qing is meant to be 3 years older, the actress they cast last time is technically the right age but she looks too old (she looked kind of old next to Hu Ge who's several years older than her so eh), her characterisation was off last time too.
I do find the pacing little on the slow side, and i'm not a fan of this director, but i still like the drama alright, probably because I like Ai Qing more than Tong Nian (Yang Zi is great, the drama made TN better, but she still frustrated me when she basically revolved around the ML)
Well yes tbh Aiqing never did anything which helped K&K
yes, tencent started it but iqiyi, youku and mangotv all do it with their dramas. the platforms are using price discrimination to maximise their profit.
no, not a remake. it does use a lot of common tropes though so might be that?
the plot is fairly predictable but scorpion in bed is pretty specific, i'm guessing deja vu, sincet the book is pretty different from the drama too mhm.

ggs 2 is a bigger project than his other dramas though, wait unrequited love is decent ip but the novel is difficult to adapt, it's also one of the more promising projects for li yitong. Lower expectation is just better in general i think.
For those who wondering why ep 19-20 aired this week. Iqiyi added another day for broadcast of My Heroic Husband,…

Hi All,I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me - Dimash Kudaibergen is listed as a supporting actor playing…
I haven't seen navi/nan wei appear in this series yet, but afaik Dimash is not involved with this drama. The person that portrayed navi/nan wei in GGS is Mohammadjavad Estilaf from Iran, he's popular regular from Hubei TV's Informal Talks (it's a variety show about cultural differences of different countries) and occasionally do cameos in dramas.
If those translations are accurate the comments by the authors involved are so benign. I don't understand the…
there's multiple parities of cnetizens and the background is chinese society in general is still fairly misognystic, both overtly and subtly, and there's been fight back lately. With feminism booming, there's people using it to cash out, there's people smearing it, there's people that's more sensitive will speak up and then there's people that will cry feminazi at every turn.
I personally think that what he said was mostly benign but just dumb thing to say, just like I think it's dumb to jump out and go "not all men" because someone talk about feeling harrassed. You also have to note that this novel is about matrilocal husband who end up starting a harem, it's not just a regular male fantasy, some people see it as using his wife's family and resources to build said fantasy, it makes it extra icky. There's people that further extrapolate it to men in real life targeting only daughters for her inheritance (this is a thing, it doesn't happen super often, but it's a thing)
The fact the drama made it much more feminist can't hide the harem core and blatant male fantasy to some people. (Male fantasy is all well and fine, but female fantasy gets criticised for being mary sue over and over again so some people are indignant about the different treatments.) There are a lot of little things like that that makes reaction more understandable and it's only the vocal subset of weibo and douban, so the more vocal bit of c-ent (which is generally mostly young women). It doesn't really stop the drama from becoming popular since it's decent, it mostly just suppress online discussion and promotion focus is shift onto douyin.
Actually guys, if you read the novels you'll understand that this drama is a prelude from the previous one (go…
GGS is a romance spinoff of gun's so it's related, and timeline wise it interwines with fish playing while in secret room, but it starts later than fish and finish earlier than fish.
In similar vein to this drama and soooort of your article, I remembered https://mydramalist.com/30365-perfect-youth…
ohhh i hope she enjoys it too then hahaha. when it's busy it's definitely easier to watch light dramas that doesn't need you to pay too much attention.

hahaha rip, it was bit hard getting used to it in the beginning, I think the episodes later got better to be honest? Maybe because I find it easier to relate later (they start planting mushrooms and some people goes to work in Fujian). I think you haven't seen the Fujian characters yet? (think they appear in ep 7 or 8) Their accents are great and absolutely hilarious, and much closer to what I'm used to hearing too. Watch one ep at a time maybe? Even if you don't finish it, you gave it good try!
I just saw the synopsis, the 1966 makes it kind of confusing since the drama is set in late 90s lol. It's even later than both Like a Flowing River.
If you are enjoying this show, you may enjoy this vivid real life story of China's earlier efforts to tame the…
In similar vein to this drama and soooort of your article, I remembered https://mydramalist.com/30365-perfect-youth I didn't watch it because it looked like suffering, but it was rated pretty well on douban so I remembered it.
i think the best thing about changing to robotics from gaming is Wu Liao. Wu Liao is just so damn cute!! need…
Wu Liao-like robot are used in banks and i think in some museums in china to help with general inquiries, I've seen some funny clips of them, not sure if it's programmed speech or if someone is answering more difficult inquires behind the robot (I've seen both explanations).
Currently watching Season 1. Probably going to watch S2 afterward but just one question: WHY IS THERE NO DEMO?!…
demo wasn't overly important in the novel iirc, while 97 is, I remember more about inin than demo, and GGS didn't have inin. demo's actor might have other engagement and didn't care to reprise his role here?
This actor was just wasted as Ying Si! He should have been saved to play Yin Zheng. Or even if they used him again…
ahahah I like him as Ying Si! Ying Si is super cool, could definitely have used him as Ying Zheng, or Qin Empire 3/s Zhang Bo would work too, who also played Sun Quan in Three Kingdoms (2010).
Anyways, just pass on it and wait Sword Snow Stride with Zhang Ruoyun :)
