Yes I had picked up the 3rd person references from watching the shows, even if the subtitles say I or you I realised the names were actually being said. Although not all the time.

I haven't read the book, I'd rather wait until the show is over. I might not read the book as sometimes I find them very hard going. Not sure if it's the translation or just the style of writing in the Asian BL novels/stories.

Well this coming Thursday it will be ep 7 and the wrap up on the main part of Payu and Rains story so you could catch up and watch ep 7 with us.

Then after ep 7 has aired either continue with us or wait until ep 8 to 13 have aired and watch the Prapai and Skys story in one go. I suppose that sthe good thing about the story being split.

Ah yes the context element is a good point. It can make all the difference how something is perceived.

I think tone and intention can be also link to context.

I guess for me the wife/husband thing doesn't bother me for most situations because it's more about them 'identifying' who the bottom and top are and that doesn't necessarily have to be negative. But yeah when it's used in a derogatory way it is annoying

Going slightly off topic but also slightly related. I quite like the Thai term Faen. I guess the English equivalent is partner and yet it doesn't seem to hold the same romantic tone as Faen. Maybe as language changes over time we will get something better.

I heard Payu and Saifah's uncle also has a novel, I think it's the Test Love series.

But someone in the know will have to confirm or deny that! I don't know if I would be interested in that since I don't know what it is about and how much Payu and Rain appear.

But yeah I would be interested in Try Me because Pakin keeps getting mentioned and Payu and Saifah seem to really respect him. It's like who is this mystery man!

I think you are a little paranoid. I was 'lowkey jabbing at you', yeah that never happened. Again, you stated an opinion, I stated an opinion. Other people responded to those opinions. It was generally quite polite until you seem to have lost your cool for no reason.

And defend your opinion, you don't need to. It's your opinion. No one was disagreeing with you or saying you shouldn't have it. No one was attacking you. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Not a big deal.

Also, I think you are a little confused about how the comments section works. It has a reply function for a reason and people are allowed to use it. You can't dictate what people can and cannot respond to. If that's what you want then another platform where you can state something and then turn off the replying comments is for you. But that's not a function here.

Seriously, I say this with all sincerity. Take a breather. You are angry, argumentative, and paranoid over things people are saying that have absolutely no malice in them. Disconnect for a few hours and come back in a much better frame of mind. I've seen some great discussions across comments sections (I've also seen some horrendous ones!) but you are in no way in a place for a polite back and forward.

I think sometimes it's also the lack of direct available translation or a word not really having an equivalent in another language.

So something that we might not necessarily like in our own language is what it gets translated to and it rubs us up the wrong way.

I can understand that. I have my own thing with 'Hia' in Thai shows. I much prefer if they don't translate it and just write Hia in the subtitles rather than bro (which seems to be the translation of choice). Which in itself is correct but it completely losses it's meaning & feeling. It makes me feel like I'm watching some surfer dude!!!

The Husband/Wife thing doesn't actually bother me but I know if bothers a fair few people

Yep, that's a personal attack on someone who stated a simple opinion. I don't know what you want dude, it wasn't really a deep breakdown of anything nor passive-aggressive. It was a literal opinion stating why I liked the show and that I don't believe everything has to be complicated. I guess some 'cinema major' hurt you because damn did you have a negative response to a throwaway comment that I studied Film and Theatre.

But hey, you carry on the angry comments attacking people because they like a show that you clearly don't. It says more about you as a person than the one who doesn't have the same opinion as you. I can imagine it was probably a bit weird watching when it seemed the characters weren't talking about it and pretending it didn't happen.

They way they filmed it for me meant it kind of kept it simple and spoke to Akks character. In other shows I've seen it's a big fantasy but for Akk all he wanted was a simple kiss with a guy he likes. It makes it sad because he's not asking for the world he is wanting something so basic and feels he can't have it.

I'm not sure what else you wanted them to do. The opening scene in ep 7 made it clear that Akk was imaging the kiss.

They were kissing then it cuts to Akk leaning over Ayan in the same pose before the kiss started. Ayan is still asleep and Akk looks a bit panicked.

I don't think the normal exposition route would have worked here as it would have taken away the feeling of the scene.

Yes it does drive me mad when you go through all these episodes with problems for the couple to get together, they finally get together and then the episode 11 curse comes along throws that last spanner in the works and as you say they get back together in the last few minutes of the show.

We just want couple time!! :)

I enjoyed this episode for the change in their relationship. You really got to see how they have become comfortable in their relationship, how they really are a couple now and not two guys circling around each other. Sure they have things to learn about each other still but it's solid at this point.

Payu is confident it their relationship that he shows Rain a bit more of his world and he is willing to share more info about himself. That is something he told Rain, when they went out to dinner, that he wouldn't do until Rain had shown he was committed.

And Rain is settled so that he can voice what he wants, take control and also realise that when Payu says something, even if a bit harsh, he knows when he is teasing and when he is serious.

Well I'm guessing he really isn't going to like Rain being hit by the douche canoe!
