he actually is :( it is revealed in the extra scene that he is not grand tutor’s son, and he really is the real legitimate son of Prince Qi, making him a true royal heir even if he is not crown prince wenxi
i just made dad watch the first ep and his first comment after is “i thought he was going to turn into a zombie? how is he alive?” “Is that guy the main character? why is his character like a villain?” to “ok one more episode” 🤣

yes. i manageeed. even asked mom to wait for me bfore she watches the last 3 eps. acted cool, still cried bc it is a sad drama 😮💨 mom was contented at the end but at some point asked to fastforward because she felt bad for wuyi (i didnt fastforward), she didnt even want to look (ep 25 scene). and then my boyfriend, oh well i knew it from the beginning. he is the type to focus on stanning the villain in any show, and he did. he would imitate eagle king every time he has a scene and then show it to me proudly like, look “i am eagle king!”. i wasnt sure if i should be happy but he def wanted more from the ending. he said where did EK go 😆 i was kind of annoyed lolol

not all of them apparently . one of them is a guy so his first comment was that he liked the action, the other one is my mom and as usual she doesnt watch cdrama unless the cast is goodlooking (but she’s more of a zlh fan lol), friend #1 who’s new to cdrama didnt call hmh handsome until ep 5 when wuyi smiled for the first time (she said ‘wuyi always looks mad or deranged, this is the first time he’s smiling and he’s actually handsome’ ), friend #2 is the only one who calls hmh handsome at least every few episodes, and friend #3 i have no idea she’s watching in silence 😂 just sharing
guys i finally managed to make 5 people in my life watch this drama… 2 of them finished it, 3 of them are currently watching (two have only watched 1 cdrama before, one is new to cdrama) 😂 i’m so proud of my word of mouth

the ending is my favorite neo cdrama ending , i had goosebumps and my heart was happy & breaking at the same time. but overall, whether it’s a satisfying ending or not, depends on what you as a watcher want for each characters. i’m saying this bcoz i watched with my boyfriend and we had different thoughts on the ending. me , on the other hand, was very happy i cried. boyfie jusT wanted a season 2 (i could tell it’s bcoz he is a fan of eagle king; boyfie just laughs whenever eagle king laughs like a maniac)
on my third rewatxh.. i just have to say this before i rest.. xiao wuyi is not just a green flag. he is the entire forest. why i think so? he not only protects his loved ones, but also an entire country/nation, even if it means sacrificing himself and his reputation 💔 if thats not a green forest guy, then i dont know what is. he rlly is not your typical general.

it is revealed later: imperial decree ordered to marry in exchange of war supplies while he was fighting a war (which is why ep 2 is also their first meeting). they dont have a child. that will also be revealed later. for now, you are at the part where wuyi is supposed to be misunderstood as a womanizer and a villain with 3 wives, 1 son, and a lot of dancers. otherwise, he wont be a villain in everyone’s eyes 🤣

omg gurl me too… I just kept convincing myself that it’s for wuyi’s own good. he must be tired like really tired, he’s been fighting since he was a small child. He deserves the ending he got 🥺 Thats why im also worried my bf will be disappointed. bccause he is really looking forward to wuyi getting that throne 💔
