Others may have a different perspective. She took on too much responsibility as a teenager and never had an opportunity…
My earlier comment isn't about chores, Mom raised them as a single mom, ran the household and employed. It's was a comment on how we judge individuals. Some diminish others if not married, have children, stay at home, career outside home.
Others may have a different perspective. She took on too much responsibility as a teenager and never had an opportunity…
I haven't looked back at the initial episodes and may have made some errors.
It's my understanding, she was a Senior in HS, went to College and took on too much responsibility for their family after the Father was banished.
My argument is the adults (parents) made/make mistakes and their daughter over corrected by becoming the Husband in that family dynamic.
Read early comments defending everything action b/c she's the breadwinner, found the hypocrisy of that logic absolutely hilarious.
My theory, mom didn't stop working, provided for her two children w/o her ex-husband/father being present for the decade. She wasn't successful as her daughter who rose through the ranks and reduced her work hours to take care of the house.
For consistency, daughter employed part time while attending high school, securing full time employment after graduation. Her skill, determination work ethic existed at an early age.
South Korea has highly competitive workforce, medium/large employers can require completion from College/University for employment.
She rose through the ranks as a part-timer at same company. She's 29*, team lead suggesting she's been advancing for years. (Speculation)
She didn't want her brother to have same experience, provided tuition and allowance.
It's been weeks since I watched the beginning of this drama so speculation of the intent by the writer/director and memory.
From my perspective, they wanted them to return to the nuclear family unit.
Every drama, movie has storytelling inconsistency, leaving viewers to fill in the blanks.
Filming violence, stunts, rushed endings seem the most common gripe with Hollywood/Kdramas in my opinion.

When watching these (always remember) this isn't reality.
Adults make mistakes, banishing Dad/husband was a mistake. No visitation, ability for him children to have a healthy relationship with him. (see studies on divorce/one parent homes)
Rewatch it, daughter realizes her MOM was doing all those chores, supporting her.
She finds her mom crying in an empty room. They both love each other and will be there for each other.
Try to understand what the writer, director and actor are trying to impart from these decisions.
Others may have a different perspective. She took on too much responsibility as a teenager and never had an opportunity to live a carefree adolescence.
She's 29? It's overdue for the family to correct, she's welcome to return if she's overwhelmed, fails.
Both parents acknowledged their choices have negatively affected how she interacts with others.
Outside of work, professional colleagues have we seen any friends?
She didn't make space for romance, friends?
She became an adult, income earner in her early teens.
This is removing her financial obligations to her brother, parents for the next chapter.
She's going to have time for personal growth outside her immediate family.
This isn't realistic, Hollywood's/Kdrama kicking out your fully grown adult children.
Her Mom is starting to chase, explore her choices in the last two episodes. Both parents in their fifties were lonely for a decade?
Have a tiny bit of empathy for them is a bridge too far?
people are still guessing that it's the president of kulbee, bok hyu hyun's dad.
The CEO 2nd ML had some hands on therapy in his office. CEO'S mom is a fan of the writer, her son (hater) wrote 100 hateful comments. Writer sent him to the orphanage as part of the settlement. They have a spinoff after this drama concludes. ML is suspected to be the abandoned son of the Chairman. His mom moved to Canada, married a Pastor. Her child out of wedlock was abandoned by her. Maternal grandmother raised him, her illness, death put him in Foster care, orphanage.

Adam Sandler does this in his Films.
CEO Bok Gyu Hyun (Fuck You on Secretary's phone)๐ was in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha as the 2ML (love interest) of the FL.

Writer has ML aiding the "criminal" CEO do Laundry at the orphanage.
They keep that event to themselves.
Treating them like a mosquito is for entertainment purposes.
