I did the same thing! Ha! Checked my viewing setting and was surprised it was at 1x. Felt like they sped it to fit into the 40 ep limit or something.

The humour is cute. So far so good.

Yes, poor NH because he’s suffering so much from all sides. but try looking through the lens of each of the characters instead of our full 20/20 vision. For example, the FL. She’s from the real world reading this script and has read how each character was described and personally experienced NH’a fearsome side. Also, everyone is fearful of him. As the story progresses and she starts to see the side of him that we(the audience, sees but then, just as she starts having doubts about her impression of him, BAM, she experiences something that pulls her back.

Agreed. Love 3-D characters and I’d say overall all the characters in this drama were well written and performed. The one inconsistent character for me was the emperor. The change was too drastic to make sense.

It’s truly a gem.

Also, this is not your cookie cutter drama. Lots of poking fun of drama tropes, references to other dramas, other movies, and real life experiences of the actors. Subtle gestures showing people’s change of heart. Lots of details that are easily missed. You may find the female L to be annoying, but if you analyzed her character, and the events through her lens, you’ll realize it makes sense.

When you get to the end, keep watching past the credits.

It’s a HE

Ok, Zhou Yi Ran just gained a new fan. I already love Wang Ying Lu (first saw her in I am Nobody and fell in love with her).

I just started and am on ep 4. Loving it so far. So well acted and directed. Love seeing Ren You Lun again. Oh my goodness. So violent and harsh.

Still watching. On ep 13. Loving this show lots. Fl is gorgeous and her acting is perfect as a cat demon. The mannerisms - hilariously fun and just like a cat!

Im a few eps behind but Wow, the way you’re getting worked up over CP is making me a bit hesitant about continuing. Sounds like some lazy writing of the baddies/dummies here.

It’s one of my top rated dramas that has high rewatch value. Of course, it suits my taste.

The general scene was pretty cool Ngl.

A dream within a dream. If you haven’t seen it and consider, just be forewarned it’s not a typical romance costume drama. It’s more satirical, comedic, and angsty. I there’s many real life references to events that happen to the ml actor, to human and societal behaviors and prejudices. It also plays on the many costume drama tropes.

Alright - finally boned the last three episodes and finished this drama.

My Final thoughts:
This is a very romantic drama focused on the strong bond between two individuals. That’s it. Yes, there’s evil they must overcome but this really is just about their devotion. There’s lots of kissing and sacrificing for each other.

Main lead relationship is the main focus. Everything else fades in the background and does not develop much. This includes the plot which feels kind of surface level. There’s lots of sugary sweetness.

The visuals and costuming were rich and beautiful. The scenery in the mortal world was a feast for the eyes. I especially loved the palace scenery when they’re were on the bridge and the camera was angling upwards towards them.

This drama is perfect for those who love romance.

For those who may want a more engaging plot and development of other characters, this may leave you unsatisfied.

Just finished and I totally relate. The last drama that moved me was ADWAD. Still thinking about it. Time to check out Twelve Letters. It may leave me bawling.
