Will be finishing it, but ngl I lost interest. Have been putting the recent episodes on play while multitasking on something else with my other device...

Wanted to like it due to Parker but the plot slowly and eventually become like Meh...

What a pity, Taiwanese BL used to be the best for me but recent ones look like Japanese, Korean BL are taking the lead

Congratulations it's the highest rated show (still yet to watch it..)
If you like Twinkling Watermelon, you may highly like this and no, not because they are very similar but because of the part where the child's realisation of parents' story

Speaking from recently completing Twinkling Watermelon and I absolutely love both. I partially dropped Twinkling Watermelon in 2023 for idk what reason. Almost missed the gold

how did moon so ri and park hae joon not get any baeksang nomination ☹️
All 4 should have been nominated, but if I were to pick, I would still pick Bo Gum and IU NOT because they are more popular, but because they are not married and have no kid(s) so acting like these give them a plus point as I could feel the pain of being a parent despite them not being "actual" parents. They nailed it.

I do agree Hae Joon is more prominent though since he have more scenes as compared to Bo Gum and also did a really splendid job on Gwan Sik character

Hate to be the odd one out but I am 6 episodes in and I genuinely do not get how and why the score is that high.…
As mentioned yourself, genre issue.

I initially watch this because of Bogum and IU combination but I didn't like this because of them, so no: High rating ain't because of them, in fact it's the whole story telling package. No doubt that these 2 brought views to the show but they aren't the only ones whom sold this show IMO.

The gold of the show is life lesson learnt when you are able to see yourself in any of them at any point of time. It's a matter of realisation. If you get it you will get it and if you don't, you don't. Don't need to force yourself.

There is no drama meant for everyone as you are not the target audience of this drama. Move on, as generally Asians in their late 20s and above will be able to find the gold in this drama.

I think gwanshik's death was so cruel and unfair to his character. yes i know this is a drama and slice of life.…
At least he died while witnessing his daughter's success, his wife's success. Not everyone gets to die with less "regret"

This also creates the impact of how we would need to cherish our parents while they are still around, and to do something for them if you want to while they are still alive, and while you are still able to.

Also, men usually passed before women despite being same age or slightly younger, and plus, he was the breadwinner where he wouldn't be able to take care of his health as well as compared to the rest of his family, which makes this very, very relatable.

It truly reflects the mortality rate of Men and Women since my Grandpa passed before my Grandma, and my Dad passed before my Mum.

Yeah it's not Jiyu. Jiyu is straight and into music, not sports

Title Heesu in Class 2 Spoiler
So, I have not read the source material, but i just binged these 4 episodes....I am a gay guy....so I am pro M/M…
Yeah totally! This drama feels very realistic.

But ngl, I was alittle bit disappointed for the recent 2 episodes as they have too much screentime for the straight couple. But that said, I love Ji Yu's reaction to Seung Won when he said he consulted Heesu for Dating advice after admitting he likes Heesu. "The straight girl friend that you said isn't close to you actually is close to you and have been paying attention about you as a friend".

Only Ep 3-5 deserve rating 9+

The rest... Meh. Sad that this whole thing comes as a package else Ryeoun would have another 9+ drama before Twinkling Watermelon

I was back here in 2024, and now it's 2025. Hehheh

Not sure why I didn't continue when it was released, but I am glad I came back to watch this. A very good watch. Kinda knew he was the Grandpa after some kind of hints before confirmation at the end.

Deserve to be one of the highest rated drama here.

Realised the similarity of the current 2 Top MDL Kdrama. The child to realising their parent story that is so heartwarming and touching at the same time.

It's too bad I had to drop this. I really like IU, I like Bo-gum, and I really love Moon So-ri. My Mister is one…
The reality of life without entertainment is indeed miserable. Doesn't that make it more realistic? We live to survive, eat, shit, raise your kid (if you have) and repeat, then we age, fall sick, and die eventually. Ae Sun character has a foul mouth but a kind soul. Gwan Sik character used to be the one whom get bullied by others and only Ae Sun stand up for him and scare away those bullies. In the perspective of the others she seem to treat him quite badly in those early days, but it seem like Gwan Sik is the only one whom understand her behavior and choose to stay by her side despite all these. When she grew up and mature, you will see that her character changes over time. Her husband is now more precious than herself compared to her initial narcissistic behavior. That's character development.

Mean and evil people exist all around the world. I think the beauty is how they handle and continue to stay true to themselves without eventually turning mean and evil. The sad truth to today's world is that we typically are very estrange to others because we experienced the bad things of what others did to us and we couldn't smile the same we used to. On the contrary, when someone kind treat us kindly and/or warmly, we will usually do the same. And the thing about kindness shouldn't be measured with expectation of return. You do it because you want to and it probably make you feel good as it makes other feel better about their life, especially in those miserable times.

And how did people in the past got over their miserable lives? Doesn't this make you think that your parents and grandparents/earlier generations also live through such lives with nothingness and possibly only barely getting by Day by day but here you are, living your life with more "luxury" stuff that you have as compared to them.

Focus less on what the drama is showing you and focus more on what the drama is telling you and you probably will like it better.

"When it's already too late, regret catches up with us." That's such a powerful statement. It's one of those reflections…
That's part of the story takeaway and apparently some people failed to catch...

I don't like Heesu's action because it looks like me, I relate to him too much with chasing a straight friend…
Ikr, but we only came to realise how wrong we are when we grow up with a much more mature mind to see the bigger picture

Title Heesu in Class 2 Spoiler
Watching Heesu chasing after Chanyeong is a bit painful to watch, same goes to Seungwon trying to make Heesu realize…
Apparently Seung Won is not Carrot Juice man

And while I never see the manhwa, but I think the best time here is to wait for Heesu realising that he is not the only one whom is into guys while being scared of getting outed. (Though 10 episode for this seem short)

Ngl, I like the way they changed this direction in the drama, making Jiyu and Chan Young a couple will lead Heesu…
I know Heesu is supposed to be ML1, but am I the only one whom wants Seung Won screen time more than Heesu? lol

Like I am sure with Seung Won there will be Heesu, but with Heesu, Seung Won may disappear in the background lol.

And him being so unlikeable in Ep 3 make me want to see him less lmao

Heesu needs to stop pushing SeungWon around, yoh my heart broke shame. I think i dont like ChanYoung he treats…
Agree and slightly disagree

Heesu is indeed annoying based on his actions, but if his vision is only on Chan Yeong, he wouldn't realise he treated Seung Won so shitty. Hope he wakes up and apologise to him

Chan Yeong has been spending most of his time with Heesu, so when a love interest for his first time came, his attention shifted so he wouldn't realise he is doing something shitty to Heesu

Never see the manhwa to know whether this is supposed to be an Escapism story of a BL or it's meant to be relatable. But I find all 3 MLs to be so real, as if seeing myself in their shoes before.

Title Heesu in Class 2 Spoiler
I can totally relate to all 3 MLs actions here in Ep 3.

I hope Heesu wakes up and realise his best friend is just a best friend, stop being possessive over a straight male with no interest in him. And eventually find out that there's someone similar to him, noticing him, paying attention to minor details and likes him more than himself - And that someone lives close to him, his neighbour.

Trying to push your neighbor to the girl your best friend has interest in so that your best friend can give you his attention is not what a best friend should do. Definitely overstepping since it's not just a best friend but a crush. I can relate, but it's not correct Heesu, you may end up losing both a best friend and your crush. Hope you find your answer that someone else whom has a crush on you is the one who is meant for you. He is no satellite, but your sun to revolve in 🥰

I’m just gonna be the one to say it because no one else will. There is a clear decrease in quality when the…
"Ratings on MDL are now unreliable"

It surely is and it kinda has been since haters can rigged it too. But one thing you gotta understand:

There is never a drama meant for everybody. This drama clearly wasn't meant for someone like you and that's okay? The story itself indeed is mediocre since it highly depicts realism especially after when middle age took over. Nothing wrong if you were expecting to watch an Escapism kind of story but the drama didn't meet that story of quality.

But don't judge as if you are one of the only person on Earth whom know how to rate a drama based on your standard of "how to rate a drama" while disregarding others whom see this differently. I am not sure whom told you so that a drama has to have a "quality story" in order to qualify for a high rating? Is there a criteria or rule in a book regarding on this? Besides, quality or not is truly subjective.

While this drama indeed invoke strong emotions but it's not entirely the reason why it's high in rating. Some dramas are meant to be entertaining or having some kind of fairytale story, but the mediocrity of this story with the technique used to tell the story creates not only a memorable one for us, but we were able to picture ourselves at times in the characters as if we were living in the story. Some recent dramas you watch once you may forget after some time but this one is able to leave behind a deep root to remember.

And at the end of the day, there's a moral to the story: we truly learnt something about the different outlook of life and that a story of life lessons we never knew we needed is what make this amazing.

Would have prefer Min Jun with that cute coworker wearing spectacles.

No thanks to a Jerk. You can be a green flag all you want now but if you are a Jerk in the past, you still are. We may forgive, but we never forget.
