did i miss something bc last ep the daughter went to japan to study and now she is in korea, but not with her…
I think the time going back and forth might have been confusing.
Although it wasn't well explained in the story, but I believed I caught Geum saying something about the misconception where studying overseas will get her "Rich".
So if I am not mistaken, she did complete her studies, but it wasn't as her expectation that she will easily find a job or have a better pay in some ways.
Just like many others, she still resort to advert in notice boards to attempt to find a job (temporary or not), but complained why the others have to advertise theirs over hers
I canβt even feel bad for Bu Sang Gil when he tried to reconnect with his own daughter after seeing Gwan-Sik…
The villains are that hostel couple stealing "foreign" people's belongings yet their business is still operating
And that Jenny mother whom almost send Geum to prison for false accusations that she never did just because she doesn't agree to do what that Mother suggested. Thankfully for the good karma her mother did in the past, Geum got saved by the "Maid". But in life how lucky or what's the odds that such thing could have happened? Imagine if Geum didn't look like her mum, "Maid" lady wouldn't have been able to recognised Geum and then aid her to her rescue.
Ao the daughter didn't end up with that green ass flag of a man. So the mother and father faught through hell…
Did you watch this with a little bit of prejudice? Doesn't sound so right to me.
I am not sure why you said that the daughter didn't fight for him when it's HIM who didn't. Despite all those past insults thrown at Daughter, she still tried her best to please the bitch mother until she finds out what that bloody mother said to her mum. Her parents did supported them regardless of how hurtful things that bitch threw to them, and they didn't even let their daughter know. Ultimately it's her daughter decision to proceed or to call off.
Him on the otherhand, besides raising his voice to his Mum and called her "Mum!". Did he even do anything to fight for her? Not really. This on and off relationship repeats for quite some time and it's getting nowhere because the problem with that bitch mother wasn't able to be resolved. It's a pity that they didn't get to stay together at the end, but don't call their relationship pathetic that they didn't fight for each other when they did tried, but it doesn't work out because someone's son couldn't choose between his mum and someone else's daughter. Despite saying that he can choose the Daughter instead of his Mum, Daughter knows that their relationship will not be fully happy because of how she understands him. Son kinda agreed with that and thus eventually also agreed that they are letting each other go for the best.
Life goes on, and not everyone will end up with their first love due to circumstances. That's how realistic things can be.
To say they could have fought harder sounds so easy from someone unrelated. Yes this is a drama, the script could have made them like struggle and then eventually be together like Gwansik and Ae Sun. But don't forget, both son and daughter have their own parents to consider and their financial background ain't that similar as compared to Gwansik and Ae Sun (whom is an orphan) back then. That's reality.
I am sorry I laughed when Silver came back from military with a surprise π€£
Also, the aunties' joy everytime when teasing the youngsters especially Silver. They spoke the truth but they purposely didn't say every detail just to let his mind anyhow run was definitely fun to watch.
I don't understand the sudden switch of husbands.Like, Yeong Beom was multiple times described as a copy of Gwan…
I guess you haven't watch fully what happened?
Unfortunate life ain't full of roses when it comes to how realistic certain things is when it comes to family background.
That kind of Mum is not as simple as abandon her and live your own life as if nothing happened. As far as he is mostly similar to Gwan Sik, but his Mum is at another level compared to Gwansik's family. Our dear Gold deserves better, and in terms of character, Seon Ho's character is a better fit. That part of Yeong Beom can never be like Gwan Sik, and it's probably also the best part that our dear Gold needs.
I am already rooting for him when I know how his mother is like too. Something Yeong Beom couldn't do for Geum. I can see alittle of Gwan Sik's character in Seon Ho's character too. Not as much as Yeong Beom, but he is much more heartwarming as he can also speak up for Geum when someone speaks lowly of her (In this case Yeong Beom couldn't even make much sound when his Mum keep insulting Geum like dirt).
This drama is on my plan-to-watch list, and its rating has gotten higher than before. Is it really good, or is…
I am not a super fan of either leads tbh. But I do like them and a few of their works.
That said, I am sure I am not biased towards the actors, this drama is just that good. However, such genre is not for anybody. If you like something realistic, emotional, sentimental, one that hit your heart to the core and gives you many life lessons and story, where you don't mind crying time to time, then this drama is for you! It's just that great!

That impression you have about her is one part of a past and not the present.

The corrupt root is much deeper it seems

Mothers are the most amazing
