Queen Dowager is absolutely mental. She made it to the top but still can't take a chill pill pouring out her insecurities…
The Queen Dowager actually wants to control the whole court. Her son being the King made her a Queen Dowager but she had never been the Queen. She has mentioned she doesn’t like the current Queen. What she wants I would say is having a Queen that she likes whom she can also take control of, such that everyone in the Palace knows she hold the highest position. She does hold the Top position by being the Dowager, but it’s not enough because the current Queen has also been doing things that opposed her and her goals. One whom is Power hungry will never stop from gaining more Power. The Dowager currently is not in control of the Queen and the Crown Prince.
While every Princes of the King are her Grandson in blood, she doesn’t care who sit on the throne as long as she is able to be the one behind to be the Master’s manipulator. But of course, the Crown Prince candidate still has to be someone whom is worthy and easy to manipulate still, not just any tom dick or harry whom have Low IQ for the court and tests.
The Queen is so poor thing, easily trust people whom seemingly are on her side. That Physician and that Maid-turned-Consort betrayed her and she haven’t yet knew…
Is there anywhere like dailymotion or what I can watch this without apps or something? My country banned BL content so I can only use VPN but Viki is an app that I can't.
Having to watch up to Ep 9, I think Eun Chan is amazing, being the only one unfalter with Changmin’s charm based on Korean’s standards. All the other 6 have at least been interested with Changmin and wanting to date him once.
Good to see there is a confirmed couple date happening here though, for Jeonghyun and Changmin. Changmin has 2 interests but ultimately knew Hyukjun’s not the one for him because of their personality being more passive and less outgoing. Jeonghyun likes Changmin since the start and has been trying to get close to him although was shy at his first call due to being roommates. The date with Hyeon shouldn’t affect their relationship too much although Jeonghyun is a more sensitive person, but everytime Changmin will explain himself whenever he feels something is not right so I think they are pretty much doing quite okay. Maybe Changmin just wanted to give others a chance to date him as he also want to know more about the person like a friend despite not interested in him.
I don’t think Hyukjun is confused. His first and only choice was Changmin since the start but he wasn’t as outgoing and initiative like Jeonghyun who manage to stole Changmin’s heart hence Hyukjun loses the possibility to be with Changmin. Plus, they spent much lesser time together as compared to the opportunities of Changmin and Jeonghyun. I don’t think Hyukjun can settle for the other 2 whom are interested in him, but he does seem wanting to consider Jeongho since he has been giving him the attention after the one to one conversation that made his heart flutter. But ultimately both were actually not whom he likes, hence that is probably why he didn’t make any decision and let the other 2 think he is just confused. He needs to be more decisive and express more thoroughly with his feelings and not giving others false hope. I think Changmin being outright honest to him during the one to one conversation is the best impression I have of Changmin that Hyukjun can learn from.
Poor Chan-gyu. He does deserve the best as he manages his emotions so well despite being hurt so many times in the show. Seonyul has so much to learn, but at least he was honest about who he likes and never give other people false hope and knows how to put a stop. I am surprised that he ultimately liked Hyukjun more than Changmin from the emotions he had when Hyukjun didn’t choose him as Roommate on the last one. He didn’t feel that way when Changmin kept dating other people but not him.
All the best to Hyeon and Jeongho. Nobody seemed to be interested in Hyeon but at least he is keeping his cool and be sassy about it every time. At least he gets to have a date with both people he liked and even if things don’t work out the way he wanted, he seemed to have no regret about it. Jeongho doesn’t reciprocate Changyu’s feeling and liked Changmin and Hyukjun as well just like Hyeon. But I guess everyone gave up on Changmin except for Hyeon when they know Changmin and Jeonghyun are a match. There are some rivalry in the show going on but most of them are keeping their cool and are able to be friends still.
All in all, Chan-gyu is the only one I think deserve the best because of his feeling and personality. Good for Changmin and Jeonghyun if they ultimately became a match but boy got his feelings hurt so many times that nobody actually give a damn other than keep emphasising that he is kind and warm. They know that he feels the most awkward and hurt among all the dramas going on but only Jeongho is trying to make him feel better. But having his thought with someone else while accompanying Chan-gyu I think is one of worst company ever. I would rather be alone than someone’s whose heart is not with me if I am in Chan-gyu’s position. Keep fighting Chan-gyu. Hope you get to meet someone more deserving of you after this show.
The reminder of the Blind date at the last episode is a huge hint. Because it’s China so the 2 ML can’t develop into BL in this drama. Neither of them are interested in finding a GF, I’m sure is because they already have each other!!! XD
In episode 17, my heart dropped when I thought Du Cheng really killed “M”.
Episode 18 revealed that he was framed, and Shen Yi will be the knight whom shall help Du Cheng uncover the truth. The bromance is still ongoing, but just that Du Cheng is in a crisis. The new officer who came in to help investigate on the case is a little bit sus IMO. The enemy really want Du Cheng to end his career and be labeled as a murderer. Can’t wait for tmr last 2 episodes to be released
I came across this drama when I saw a video about it on YouTube out of the blue on the scene where SBS guided SZY on curve.
I absolutely love it that I am lucky to binge watch it without having to wait for any episodes release in between while this drama is still new.
The story ain’t perfect like most dramas having some holes maybe due to airing time and limitations, but I felt the emotions of what the characters are going through in their lives that I felt that this is one part that made this drama successful in my opinion. It wasn’t an easy one that the ML and FML got together and it greatly taught me a lesson. Sometimes relationships may be missed due to some circumstances and once it’s passed or gone and it will never be back again, relationship ultimately still take 2 hands to clap. One party may be the first one to take initiatives, but the other party will also need to take the initiatives for it to work. Obstacles exist every time and it is very important about communication that things can work out and misunderstandings can be resolve before any opportunity missed. It was great to see how both party make the effort to spend time together despite how busy their schedule is due to their “work”. When faced an obstacle that seemingly seem hard and impossible to overcome, having one another to complement and help each other by giving their support will truly give each other the motivation to continue carry on without giving up. After all, it’s all about breaking the limits and do the best you can before you come to a conclusion of being stagnant and thus giving up that you generally will end up with regrets. When you want to go fast you go alone, but to be able to go far, we go together is also another intake I learn here even though this is a common one that most of us would have already know irl. The change of the ML to learn how to love someone and made his effort even to the FML family was very sweet and pleasant to see. I will rewatch this.
Although the cast chemistry are great, but I find the storyline of this series a bit messy. It is going back and forth on the present and the history between the 2 Male leads that I got very confused on what is going on. I don’t get the continuity between some scenes. It was not easy to finish it though I stayed cause the series is short and their kisses are nice to watch.
Let’s make a list of all the horrible things Cheon Seo Jin has done: 1. Slashing oh Yoon hee’s throat 2. She…
Also not to forget she stole Yoon Hee’s boyfriend to become her husband with her family wealth. She didn’t push her Father, but she struggled with him for the document on his hand and he fell down the stairs. The bad thing she did is she choose to not call for ambulance or any help and left her father to his death.
Everything is going so well this episode, it was really fun to watch. I thought BJK (real JDT) is going to be such a waste of his character just by being a trash in the end but at least he served to be useful in the plot to mess up JDT and CSJ’s relationship to further turn against each other. JBH having a sound mind again is good to watch too, where everyone works together to destroy JDT and CSJ by using each other’s names. JSK is so class this episode when visit JDT in the mental prison. She is classy usually, but this classiness at the end is just another level. Damn good to show this darn JDT to eat his own medicine.
I know I'm in the minority opinion on this, but I didn't really like Edan Lui's performance of Tin/Haruta. I felt…
I gave a like to your comment, as I agree that there are some “awkwardness” moment to Edan’s acting in between the show. But compared to the original Japanese actor who is an experienced actor and a Ossan himself, Edan being 24 irl still have a long way to go. I believed there must be a reason why they wanted Mirror to cast on this remake, even though there may be other potential actors that could have done a better job, but I respect that. Because of them as cast, I got to know Mirror.
In comparison to Anson’s acting, Edan has more acting exposure in the drama because of Tin’s role, and the skills required for the act are also of a higher level than the role of SM. All these funny expressions of Tin like a joke is not the same as what we saw on SM, whom only smile, laugh and cry in SM’s portrayal with nice image if you get what I mean.
Also, I'm curious on why they changed the ages of Tin/Haruta in this drama. In the original, Haruta is 33, and…
I partially agree with you. However, I would like to point out that Ossan can be a term to describe men past their 40’s too. It is a casual way to say it although if you want to nitpick and be more specific, then of course there are terms like Ojisan that can be used instead, I understand. You are right about the Japanese original’s title.
Now, why is there such change - The Ossan adapted here is actually referring to the role of KK, and not Tin. There is 1 episode where SM actually call KK “Ossan” in Cantonese via Chinese translation “大叔”. Adapting the original story in a remake usually will have some new elements that doesn’t follow the original. Else changing of cast with the exact same storyline has no point right? Everyone can just watch via English Sub since both original and remake are in a language/dialect that not everyone can understand. If everything follows the same, other than the cast difference and language used for audiences who don’t understand both Japanese and Cantonese, why bother have 2 of the same thing but just cast and language different? (Acting skills too)
As an Asian myself who is a Chinese, and as I watched episodes till the finale for this remake, I can confirm that the title Ossan is not referring to Tin but KK. I agree that this adaptation may have been done to appeal to other age groups like what you mention. In a way, Mirror fans are excited.
Nice! I knew #EdAnson is end game, but still got worried there may be a plot twist during the marriage walk over.
I love the cast over the original, this may be a personal preference as the plot is secondary. SM sure look more and more attractive each episode as compared to the first when I saw him. But they are much more compatible and have great chemistry probably because they are from Mirror.
Kudos to both KK and Tin wearing wedding dresses. KK is really cute in this. The actor playing this is bearable to watch maybe because he is actually kinda good looking as compared to the Japanese original cast.
Anyways, last episode tmr and I can’t wait. I can see that Tin and SM will be end game. I ship!!! #EdAnson
This show I would honestly rate one of the better BLs out there.
I’ve watched quite a number of Thai BLs for example and yet I have also dropped tons of them too. Their script and acting could either get too cringe or boring that I have no desire to look forward to the next episodes. But this one from Hong Kong, the combination of romance and comedy is good that I looked forward to every episode. Although they adapt the main story from the original Japan series, but having some twists to it give this show more originality on its own. I think the twists are good, rather than to use different actors and let them perform the same thing as the original Japan version is all about, that will be too boring and predictable.
First of all, Tin is not a Straight whom turn Gay. He loves SM because it’s SM and not because he is a guy. This actually does happen to real life for a person who is straight but falls for a guy not because he turned gay, but love is love. Such straight typically will not fall for other guys because they are actually still straight, but they fell for someone whom happened to be a guy.
Another thing I want to highlight is that the main plot and title is named Ossan’s Love. Meaning, KK is the key plot of this show. I don’t find his actions to be creepy because he just happened to fall in love and feeling young once again. Age is just a number, as shown with Louis and Francesca’s relationship which actually happen to quite a number of people in real life. Definitely, if Tin is acceptable with the age difference, then there is no problem. The problem is Tin actually minds, and he is not Gay. Hence KK’s persistence could get annoying to some of us but he is the Man to this show. Else this love story should have been renamed as TinMuk Series for example, but it’s not. I personally find KK and his actions to be funny, comedic and cute. It’s amazing that this actor actually wants to take up this role. I think he did a really good job. True love waits for no one, so if you don’t even try, you probably won’t have any hope. To keep loving someone and confess despite countless rejections, really show that this person really love a person. I think as a human, KK is not at all creepy because he’s fighting for his love. But of course, he is old, hence I guess some of us feel it’s creepy or disgusting for him to pursue someone who is at the age of His Son (if he has any).
I suppose I hope HK has LOTS more BLs too, but...why does that require ignoring stupid BL-cliche, gays-can't-be-happy…
Yes, living under same roof but not in same room. I believed their country and culture has yet to opened up so much. Will require time, might not happen in this show but we still have 3 episodes left to go
in case anyone missed anything, no, the trip with Tin in Tai Ok is not just Siu Muk's dream, IT DID HAPPEN (anson…
I don’t get why people thought the whole thing at Tai O is a dream when SM obviously has recovered and KK & Tin are back from Taiwan. The dream was to show SM thinking Tin taking care of him but didn’t cause Tin was still in Taiwan. I could tell that but not sure why people took the scene chronologically when it is just an extra.
While every Princes of the King are her Grandson in blood, she doesn’t care who sit on the throne as long as she is able to be the one behind to be the Master’s manipulator.
