Good Enough

Japanese Drama 'Colourful Love: Gender Free Boy' is an innovative drama with an unconventional love story. The drama explores many taboo ideas and presents deeper and purer, probably more ordinary relationships.

However, the main characters are overshone by the second lead, who, by all means, was far more interesting than the main lead. And he kept the interest high till the ending, when the love story was established by then and few surprises were added to keep things perky and fresh. Actually, the drama, even though is presented as romance, it was more focused on the main character's career and friends.

On the other hand, the leading lady was a pretty fun character. She was not only relatable, but also a strong lead with a nice personality. The male lead was a bit banal though. Still, the performances were all spot on from everyone in the cast.

Finally, the colors and the costumes of the drama were all pretty and fun.

So, overall, 5.5 out of 10.

" How to buy a friend " had one thing really going for it, the cinematography.

The scenes were just perfectly filmed, with some edgy camera work, nice mix of light and shadow and knife cut editing. The story was enjoyable as well, especially the first episodes. The characters were mysterious, though, in the end, they started fitting into well used molds. That part was a bit disappointing, along with the mystery case that somehow felt unrealistic. The pace, however, was kept breathtakingly quick throughout the drama. The performances were really good as well from all the actors and actresses in the cast.

So, overall, it was an interesting short, web drama.

I stumbled upon this movie and thought it will be a light rom com. The truth is, there are some cliches in the story, but, overall, it was nice and refreshing.

The love story was romantic and kind of realistic as well. I also liked the fact that the movie wasn't only about the love story, but it had some kind of darkness into it, as the characters were still stuck in the past, trying to overcome their demons together. The performances were good too, even from the side characters.

So, seven out of ten.

Maybe with the drama We Love would have been better.

I did like the premises of the story and the begining of it. It was funny and the couple was adorable, although the guy didn't really treat the girl nicely.
The later was simply adorable and I really liked her character. However, the love triangle that was added to the plot halfway through, was weak, unfortunately.

The ending, finally, was ... hmm... okay I guess. I'm fifty fifty whether I liked it or not, because it was kind of cliche.

In addition, the performances were nice from all the actors and actresses of the drama.
So 5 out of 10.

Giver: Fukushu no Zoyosha left me thinking : "What was that?!" Okay, the drama starts awfully wierd, with this crazy psycho trying to bring down a building full of people, while taking hostages. Things do not getter better as the drama progrecess. No, they get worse. Somehow, some cases were kind of interesting. Although, most of the theme was just upsetting. And the ending was just horible, with those shots over the main characters shoulder for dramatic emphasis. In the end, there wasn't any real meaning to the story. Why on earth Ryo Yoshizawa choose this one, is beyond me. His performance was actually good, especially in the final episodes. But, the drama was just not good. At least the music suited the mood of revenge...

An epic movie about an epic story. First of all I have to say that the cinematography is amazing. Maybe one of the best I've seen yet. And the battles were fierce. The atmosphere, the lighting, the clothes, the mood, the colours, everything worked so good with the vibes of the story, so credits to the director and his team. However, story wise, the movie was a mess. Following the steps of those sword battle movies that focus more on the battle, and less on the story, even though the tragedy premisses are set early on, the plot of the movie was not something unordinary, it followed a messed up pace, the conclusion was weak and the information provided about the characters little and just enough to keep you watching. So, 8.5 out of 10.

With this film, they really tried to make it about history, but they ended up with a bit of a so so result. The theme was really nice, though the story started from the middle of the events and ended everything up with an epic ending, although it could have been better, with some more explanation on what happened next. The performances were good as well, but the whole thing seemed a little rashly made and everything just happened too quickly so there was not a smooth character build up here. So, if this was better made, it would have been an epic war movie.

Good Enough

There were some points that made the movie "His" a beautiful film to watch, but there were also many others that slowed it down.

The main factor that works brilliantly for the story is the cinematography. The rural scenary, along with the action taking place in a small community, while the one of the male leads, Shun, is living a quiet, agricultural life, in addition to the slow pace of the story, all enabled the film to master the spot on right atmosphere for the drama that was going to present.

The love story, on the one hand, was pretty intense, sad and with just enough twists. Honestly, I haven't watched the prequel series, which, as I'm informed, was more lighthearted and opting for a more youthful and cute look. This movie, though, was edging more on the dramatic side, flirting with the subjects of social obligation, homophobia, abandonment and social isolation. Those themes, along with the atmosphere that was managed to be created, worked nicely for the love story. However, Nagisha was an endearing character to like. He was presented as a victim most of the time, but his actions were more on the selfish side when it came to his lover (he decides to show up unannanounced after years of seperation which he had enforced on Shun) or his ex wife (though one can't really sympathize with her easily). But, he does manage to redeem himself in the end.

On the other hand, especially on the second half, the movie deepened more into the family drama. The story focuses on the trial between the two exes for the custody of the daughter and things get out of hand. The lawers take the main part of the screentime, attacking the two parents with arguements that didn't seem to work. For example, the mother's lawyer could easily have pointed out that Nagisha doesn't have a home of his own and, thus, he might not suitable for full custody. Alas, he opted to stick with his sexual preferenced, even when things didn't seem to be working for him.

Another annoying factor was the presentation of the ex wife. Edging the lines of bias, she was shown as the one who was capable of hurting the child, while she was more into her job than caring for her daughter. She even had a drunk insident. At this point, Nagisha's reasoning in the end was spot on.

So, overall, 5.5 out of 10. The movie was nice, but they focused more on the family drama and less of the love story.

This one is a long long one. Four hours length, with a simple yet realistic story about people who see their lives being ruined and try to hope. I can't say that the story kept me interested throughout its huge length. Sometimes it felt like nothing was happening. It was like watching a documentary. It did pick up eventually. The ending was kind of odd too. But overall the performances were really good from all the characters who's lives were tangled together somehow. So, five out of ten, for its simplicity, but the length can't be explained.

" What happened to Mirae ? " started intrestingly, but was just not good enough.

The story was okay, and there were potentials but they just stuck in a loop, as did the characters. Plus, the leading lady's character was annoying and kind of selfish. However, her character kind of improved towards the end. Still, the drama didn't provide any good presentation of the characters and we never got to know them better than the basic description. The story got pretty boring too quickly.

So, overall, three and a half out of ten.

Didn't not expect this drama to be this bad. The main story didn't seem
like something crazily interesting, but still, the first episode was
promising. However, the drama was tiring, with a boring plot that
dragged on and on, with no actual twists, no chemistry between the
actors (not even the couple was good) and no humour. That resulted to
prevent me finishing this one, and I rarely leave dramas like that. I
mean, I was able to force myself to watch to the beautiful you, when
the plot got so predictable and boring, I could feel hours of my life
being wasted for nothing. But this drama was even worse. Maybe I was
expecting more out of it, as the cast was maned by seriously good
actors. So, what happened? I blame most of it on the story that was an
actual mess. So, 2 out of 10.

For a movie with so many big names in the cast, " Homme Fatale " was disappointing.

The story had potential and there were moments where it was really, really good, like towards the ending with that dramatic scenes, which had some great performances too. However, the presentation of the story was off. The camera work was odd, with the lighting of the settings sometimes too natural for a movie. There were some scenes that moves too fast and others where the action happened off the scene.

" Arthdal Chronicles Part 3: The Prelude To All Legends " was probably the best part of this three part drama. The story had finally got into the right track, as in the first parts we were mainly introduced to the world of Arthdal and the characters. The action was better and the story progressed more smoothly. They stopped adding characters out of nowhere too.

However, there is a huge problem with the timing of this series. They stopped everything and had us wait for two months for the third part of the first season. And now we'll have to wait for season two, as this one was finished with an open ending. Another thing that just didn't get better in this part was how confusing the story is. They have so many plots to follow and mythologies to present that it is hard to keep up.

Finally, the performances were really good and the music okay, as well as the costumes and settings.

So, overall, six and a half out of ten.

Miss Hammurabi is not exactly a law drama. It has cases and it is about judges, but it focuses more on the characters than the plot. Those characters are interesting, with rich backgrounds, that usually explain the way they act in the current time of the drama. Through the show, we learn more about them and more about their lives, as they start to develop relationships with one another. In the end, we get friendship, romance, strong office dynamics and a nice conclusion. So, it is inevitable that the performances were good as well. Go Ara has a way to express deep emotions in her every drama, and L has finally grown to a mature actor with flawless performances. So overall, 6,5 out of 10.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama '' Queen of Divorce '' is a dramatic law comedy.

The drama, first of all, focuses mostly on the female lead's story and her efforts to redeem herself and bring those who hurt her to justice. Therefore, there weren't a lot, or even any, legal cases other than the main one, which was a letdown, as the main lead was supposed to be the queen of divorce, even though she couldn't be a lawyer.

The romance, in addition, felt forced and it was boring, especially since they were trying to base it on a past that the viewer had never watched.

Finally, the performances were enjoyable.

So, overall, three out of ten.
