" The Tale of Nodku " was, surprisingly, a good drama.

The story was a bit strange, but they made it work and it was really funny. The performances were top notch from everyone in the cast, but especially the leading actor was extra funny and he was really good with the action scenes. The latter were plenty after the first half. The romance was cute too and it had a nice happy ending that worked nice for the love story and the political drama both. The twist about the king was pretty well presented and the built up towards the big revelation was quite entertaining. But the best part of this drama was the pace that kept everything interesting till the very ending.

So, eight out of ten.

The dude inside me was funny. I enjoyed the pace and the way they presented the story. I also love Jung Jin Young in this one and he proved to be a great actor.

However, the scenes with the mother and her ex boyfriend in the body of the young student, although laughable, were a bit off, as it wasn't easy to sympathize and actually imagine that the one talking was not the young student but the mafia boss. However, Jin Young played those scenes masterfully.

Overall, the movie was funny and it had a nice conclusion, as well as good performances.

The last empress was a long drama to follow, but it was worth it. At first, the execution was a bit off, especially when it came to the transformation of the main character, which was just unrealistic in such short period of time, not to mention that he looked nothing like his old self (he even got taller....). I was actually considering dropping it, but the story somehow was intriguing. I wanted for Sunny to get revenge and become a strong character and she did. So, I wasn't disappointed there. I had mixed feelings about the romance with the emperor though. For the first half he was the ultimate bad guy, almost psychotic to the core. And then he became with lovable character that you couldn't help feel sorry for him, But, does that erase everything that he did in the past? Well, he wasn't the only character that followed that pattern in this drama. Other than that, the performances were really good, the plot full of action, suspence and thrill, plut it was fast paced.

This one is a surprise. The plot had so many layers, with comedy, drama, tragedy, even crime and especially mystery, taking over and keeping the interest high throughout the whole drama. The tension was just right as well as the thrill that it provided to be entertaining. The characters, moreover, where unique and dynamic, each one different from one another and helped built a nice story. So, unsurprisingly, the performances were top notch from everyone, but I should give special credit to the kids, that were remarkable. Finally, the cinematography had an odd shooting way, but it was okay overall. So, 9 out of 10.

The second movie of the Along with the Gods series was entertaining, but not as good as the first one. Whethere the first one was backed with emotions and twists, this one was just a good movie about two things, the trial of the last movie's lead's brother and the past of the three grim reapers massed up in the story of a young boy and his grand father. The story about the boy and the background story on the three main characters were interesting and kind of sad. The trial part, however, failed to impress. And when all the stories came together, it was a quick and awkward mass up, concluding everything so we could move on to the next chapter about the othe soldier, whose story will be presented in the third movie. I just hope that the last one will be the best one.
Other than that, the performances were really well by all the actors in the film and they actually looked natural. The special effects in addition, were decent and enjoyable.
So, 7.5 out of 10, because it was a good movie, but it could have been better.

The only problem with this movie is it's length. Two hours counting is way too much. Kind of got a bit tiring after a while. The special effects were a problem at the begining, but they got really better after a while. The performances were good as well and the story was touching and emotionaly, especially the brother's story. The guy was a bit too much of a mama's boy, but it wasn't that big of a deal breaker. The action scenes and the costumes, finally were good as well. Lastly, my fav actor, Kyungsoo did well and had good drama scenes. So, 7 out of 10.

Interesting story, only too long... Legend of the blue sea is about a mermaid who fells in love with a con man, after meeting him in Spain, and decides to find him in Seoul. However, she had erased his memory beforehand and so he can't remember her. Meanwhile, the drama shows the love story between the two main characters in a different era and how they have now reincarnated into the present lovers. I divide this drama into three parts, the first one which is the interesting one, the second one which is the romantic one and the last one that was kind of boring and more family drama like. The plus points for this drama are the performances, especially from the leading lady. She was really good and funny pretending to be a creature from the sea learning the human behaviour and way of living. The chemistry, however, between the two leads was weak...The family drama was interesting and the step mother\villain was really the ideal villain type that you want to see behind bars. Of course, when the family drama started progressing, the romance and the mermaid affairs got the second lead. And though it was entertaining, the last few episodes could have been combined into one and that would have made this drama perfect. However, they just prolonged the story by adding constant flash backs again and again which was tiring. So, 4 out of 10.

Descendants of the sun is one of the most discussed drama and everyone seemed to go all crazy about it. Maybe that's why I expected too much out of it and got quite disappointed. First of all the romance between the doctor and the soldier was clever, but it wasn't strong enough for me. Actually the second lead romance was better, but anyway. The big tragedies that occurred during the drama were okay, especially the last one which ended up in a big twist, it was good enough to make the second last episode very entertaining. However, the drama after a while got to be more of a long advertisement than a TV series. The performances were okay, I guess, and the scenery was really good, along with the soundtrack. So, all in all, 4 out of 10.

I will be strict on this one, as many told me that it was a seriously good drama. And, judging from the ratings it had for each episode, apparently a lot of viewers actually enjoyed this drama. However, even though I can't argue that this wasn't entertaining at some rate, it wasn't however interesting. The plot was kind of boring, with the twists being obvious and the romance seriously weak, although, if I'm not wrong on this one, the conclusion of the love triangle was unexpected. In addition, the soundtrack of this drama started getting annoying after the fiftieth time you would listen to the same song over and over again! Anyway, the performances at least were very good, though the male lead's character was kind of annoying. So, 3 out of 10.

Good Enough

Korean Drama "Jirisan" is a nice surprise. For a drama about forest rangers, one might expect a more slice of life approach, with a group of rangers walking up and down the mountain. And yet, Jirisan presents an intriguing story with lots of suspense, action scenes and a big thriller factor. There were also some sweet family moments between the community and the rangers. The background story of the main lead was likewise a nice addition.

However, the first few episodes were a bit slow, as the story took its time to get into the action part and set in. The finale was unexpectedly out of tune with the rest of the drama as well and kind of disappointing for some reason, even though they did wrap up everything in the end.

Still, the eery atmosphere, the setting and the OST were all great and the performances even greater.


So, overall, 7 out of 10.
