No. Its not related to ao3 incident. It started around when WOH became superhit. According to serpentza a youtuber who make videos on china has hinted that it's because the rulling party want to control out of the norm role models in their society. It's not just denmai ban. A lot of other genres got banned together. They also sanctioned feminine looking male singers, different hair colors and many more. Viral denmei adaptations, popular feminine looking singer were considered not traditional and seen as rebellious. So they were waiting for excuses. And they found it with Word of Honor. This show went overboard with suggestive content. So the punishment came right after. The mc of this show got banned due to controversy and it started the crackdown on these stuffs. They believe these kind of things ruining their image worldwide and it gonna effect their military. But you can tell that these are all bs. They just don't want people's attention to get divert from their dear leaders. They crush anything that gets people's attention. So it's actually very political.

As i have already told you I don't know much about Bad buddy. Even if it inspired by romeo juliet drawing inspiration and adapting something by buying it's rights are two very different thing. But you seem to ignore these basic differences for your convenience. There are thousands of works that's have been inspired by romeo juliet. Why not a few lgbt ones? you ever wondered why people take classics and try retelling. The answer is not simple but it's obvious that people like to express what their view is. There is a show adaptation of gay version of romeo juliet from my country where they even kept names similer. It called "Romil and Jugal". So yeah different takes for different people. You may like this show, you may hate same sex shows, but you can't deny that the show is compromised. What's wrong in accepting the fact. Haven't watched bad buddy and don't know much about it. If they have done that then my stand is same. Absolutely not right when makers change the original work. It doesn't matter if it's gay or straight or something else. Was Bad Buddy really straight originally? Can anyone here confirm? And I have no problem with who watch the series nor made any comment about anyone from the crew except from the one particuler actor who have personal misogynistic past. But as you can see this person and many other intentionally downplaying it for their own evil mentality.
