Really enjoyed this week’s episodes. The daring escape, YY’s moment, and LTG finally moving on

So far, this is a delightful, coming of age story in a xianxia world, which is not easy to pull off. I find the ML and FL relatable and with real “human” feelings and reactions.

I agree, what little screen time she has had so far hasn’t really sparked much interest for me either. She’s just a typical bratty princess to me, but maybe she’ll have her own arc by the end. That would be a nice surprise and make this drama all the better with its overall very strong, layered female characters.

I like the effort to make LTG a layered, complicated guy, and he definitely has reasons to be such given how he was raised, etc, but this “Shifu, shifu” nonsense has gone on long enough. Psych ward intervention please

Just watched this on Netflix, really enjoyed it!

Ahhhh, the blinding lights and wind out of nowhere lol...but the story is as interesting as ever, hope we get a satisfying finish in the final 8 episodes!

Never got to read the novel, but I guess as it stands in the drama, I’m glad it hasn’t been dragged out for too long. I think it’s just the right amount to maintain the pace of the drama.

Same, I’ve always liked a good slow burn. Where they started out, they had a long way to go before becoming lovers. Where they are now, there are still several steps to go. It helps with maintaining tension throughout the show and can mirror (in tension) the struggles of the political storyline as well.

To be honest, yes, some of the scenes with ZZ went on for too long for me

I know many are anxious to see JXN and XW’s relationship progress (as I am), but there are plenty of storylines here I am enjoying along the way. Currently enjoying Fangyin and LX, and hilarious fake Dingfei’s antics crack me up

Yep, the style is too heavy-handed for me and sometimes distracting, but the story and acting have been pretty solid so far. I can almost ignore it….almost lol
