It’s a remake of the French show La Mante. If you like films like Silence of the Lambs, you’d probably like this one. The writing isn’t the greatest, and some of the characters aren’t constructed in the fullest way, but the female lead is amazing to watch.

Ep 6 was creepy, finally things are coming together. But yes, I have very little love for this police team. The chief is not a great leader, and his team are just super incompetent and petty.

I know previews are misleading, but is the dumb dumb going to fall to the dark side? 🙄

Eek, that’s not great if true. Sigh. If it was an investment issue, I think there would still be a way to get other investors to finance. It’s such a high profile drama that I can’t imagine that iqiyi would just let it go without at least trying to figure something out. What’s more difficult is if there are major creative differences.

I think it’s the author’s style ( same author as princess gambit). I’m sure the drama altered it.

Yeah it’s too bad he’s developing in the wrong way as a character. But I guess we did see from the beginning he’s a bit rigid in his principles and mindset. I’m just tired of the same old thing every time he’s on screen now.

He’s dubbing himself afterward, so I imagine it can be hard to match the exact emotion of when it was filmed. Definitely could work on that for sure, but I appreciate his efforts to voice himself. It’s a hugely important part of acting.

Can’t wait! It’s been 2 years…but yes, Su Yishui was an appetizer I guess lol (as far as seeing him as a villain). Would love to see him in full villain mode here.. Also the rest of this cast is insane. ❤️

Yes for sure in the novel. The main characters are not perfect saints but are complex, particularly the male lead. We’ll have to see here what changes are made in the drama…which I hope is filmed well despite what these rumors may claim.

Just for this drama. The production hasn’t been in the habit of announcing things in advance (like when the cast would be announced) or putting out statements to quell the rumors, so there are constantly rumors because it is true the production has taken several breaks from filming since May. As for the true reasons why, we don’t really know. There could be legit reasons like cast scheduling conflicts or whatnot. We’ll find out more one day I’m sure.
